Only if they're hopelessly uneducated. Atheism is older than Christianity.

atheist movement, where? anyway many christians believe almost anything counts a reason for the rapture. if history didn't bring on the end times, then i will be surprised if their will be any in the way that christians think.

I am a Christian. I don't believe the 'rapture' theory. I never knew atheists had a movement. Sounds like if you were a Christian you'd be the 'Bible beatin' kind. Its just that you're an atheist. I think you like 'beatin' Christians. Give the Hindus a shot....or maybe the Buddists.....there's alot to pick from to get your jollies.

Christians have been waiting for Jesus to come back to Earth since he died and didn't complete all the prophecies. Since Christians have been waiting almost 2,000 years, they have been looking for any sort of sign to hint that Jesus is coming back to end the world.

As for the "Atheist movement," while Atheists are growing in numbers, I didn't realize they were an organized movement.

Not really
From prophecy in revelation we learn that there will only be two churches in the end. Those who follow God and keep His commandments and those who follow the beast (being the devil). According to the Bible, atheists will end up following something. If you want more details check out http://amazingfacts.org/items/Read_Book.asp?SelLang=en&ID=9.

BTW no such thing as secret rapture

No. Atheism is such a small minority to be of much significance anyways!

Actually the very first sign (and thus the most important one) Jesus gave in response to His disciples' query on the end times was religious deception: "take heed that no man deceive you." It is significant, too, that His revelation of this primary sign was phrased as a warning: "take heed," or beware. He repeated this sign two more times for emphasis and explained the nature of the coming deception: it would involve false Christs, false prophets, and false signs and wonders. In other words false religion ... not no belief whatsoever.

I'm a Christian, and I don't believe in the rapture (at least not in the way you mean). It's only one branch of 'Christianity' that believes in the rapture you speak of.

Christians don't think too long and hard about anything.
Once they hear anybody say that someone or some thing might take care of all their problems and protect them from harm and give them a shot at forever, they're ready to sign up. No questions asked.
They're a lot like my dog. If it doesn't smell too rotten, bite the damn thing and swallow. Don't bother to chew, just get it down.

No, I don't. Who says there is an atheist movement anyway?

Sounds like to much roughage. No there may be some groups or individuals who do. Do you guys actually think that we all have a uni mind with but one thought on any subject amongst us? How logical is that?
