Being caught in the rain by the river, seeing people run for shelter, while I got soaked and watched the world glow with it.

I love the rain, the whole world seems different when you're out in it, all the colours get more vivid.

When I first studied Pagan faiths in 1977 I became friends with a wonderful group of people. They worked so hard to initiate me into their coven, but they made the preparations in secret. We had studied together for months, but I had no idea they practiced rituals together, nor that they were a coven. The night they initiated me was so magical that I can never forget it. I had no idea it was going to happen, and I’m convinced they had been preparing everything for months. I’ve never been to a wedding that was so elaborate or well thought out. I had to move a year later, and every group I’ve met since has seemed kind of makeshift by comparison.

Having been raised in the Pagan understanding, more than the rituals and practices, I have to say that over the course of my life time (I'm 57) I gotten to experience and happily realize that Paganism is open ended. Meaning there's no one short sighted goal at the end of it, no heaven or hell, nor do you reach the 'end of it'. Paganism goes far beyond the physical, into the Great Unknown..and that is endless. It goes outside of duality, beyond rudimentary physicalness. There are no limits to the magic of life, spirit and self. Nor is there an end to it!

I don't know if I can really call myself Pagan, I'm more Eclectic really, but I have learned a lot about Pagan religions, primarily how they respect nature. I find since learning about these religions I respect the planet more than I use to. I do things like feed the birds, clean up litter, recycle, and bring my own reusable cloth bags to the grocery store. It's hard to explain, but when I do these things, I just feel good in a way I don't remember ever feeling before.

Oy. Um... I don't know that I could identify the one that made me "most happy". Every day I'm happy to be Pagan. I'm happy to experience the Gods in the world around me, and to feel a connection with the world and a better understanding of my place in it.

I can tell you some times when I'm "less happy" to be Pagan - when Mercury goes retrograde... =/

Wow, what a great question.
Honestly, it's the little things.. the connection I have with nature.. the sunrises, the crow caws, the laughter of little children.. knowing that we're all connected.. sitting on the river and knowing I'm as much a part of it all as every other creature there... there's nothing better to me.

It's mostly the little things for me... Those moments when I feel closest to nature, and I know that we're all connected in some way... The fact that I've found something that I truly believe in and I can just be who I am.

Whenever I stand just inside the water's edge at the lake, wiggling my toes in the sand, feeling the sun and wind on my skin, basking in the flow of energy in and out of myself..... that's when I most enjoy being me.... and questioning how so many other people can be so blind to the wonder.....

It's more of an ongoing thing for me. Whenever I hear Christians whining about being sinners and fearing hell, I just smile to myself that I am free from that fear and can live my life to the fullest, exploring all the possibilities and questioning everything.

When I first got the hang of true meditation-nothing like it.
