should I look for a leak in the a/c system or take a/c unit to a mechanic shop?

Happened to me once& my condersor unit needed replaced.

Blower motor inop or does it only have high speed? If the compressor turns and you feel the two pipes small one is hot and big one near the engine will is cold the system has freon charge it might just be a blower motor problem. one plug and 3, 8mm screws you might find a surprize in the blower when you drop it. Leaves twigs dead rats mice. I have removed all kinds of things from Pathfinder blower motors. "There was this female rat with babies" Owner had show dogs and dog food mom rat was checking out dog food smell and was taken for a spin. When I removed the bodys for burial. and switched on the A/C cloulds of flees blew out of the A/C vents I scratch just thinking about it. Fleas from the rat and dogs looking for moisture in the A/C. Gross isn't it

More and likely a leak in the system. Can take it in to get it checked.
