i bought the product to use on my dogs just wanting to be sure it is safe and that it works well.

No it is not a good product and most of all it is NOT a safe product..do NOT use it on your dogs.. Like Hartz Sargents is not safe..it uses a very strong pesticide taht can cause skin irritation, skin burns, neurological issues, seizures and even death...It is unwise ot use ANY OTC flea/tick products on your pets..they just plain aren't safe.

I can't say for ALL OTC products (I used to use BioSpot very effectively and safely on my dogs years ago) but I used Nature's guardian on my cat last week. Not sure of the reason but the entire spot on her neck where I applied the 'drops' is now a big patch of flaking skin. I would normally think ringworm but there is nothing else on her, just where it was applied. I haven't seen any fleas or ticks on her but I think I will find a product that doesn't harm her skin this way.
