While WI is one of the few remaining states that doesn't have it yet, what doesn't get reported is that a solid majority of Officers don't have a problem with it at all.
The reality is, a person that goes about legally carrying a CCW is the first to advise Officers that he/she is armed. They aren't vigilanties that have this buring desire to find criminals and "Bring them to Justice". Most of that is Anti-gun propaganda. They are law abiding people that want to be able to protect themselves in places and at times where a Police Officer isn't and Criminals know this and take advantage of the situation.
Everytime the topic comes up in the WI Legislature, we have the usual cadre of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs from the most populous counties Milwaukee, Dane Racine.(All Democrat strongholds, conincidence? not!) that voice "Objections" over such a law. Yet the news outlets ignore asking regular Police Officers. Even when they are standing behind the same administrators that are opposed to a CCW law and holding signs of all things.

I believe in Concealed Weapons permits, even if the background check is harder to pass or the laws are stricter for concealed Weapons Permit holders.
It's a proven fact that states with Concealed Weapons Permits see a large drop in Violent crime.
If you don't know who's Carrying your less likely to mug anyone.

I believe requiring permits violates the second amendment. That said, As soon as I pay of MasterCard. A handgun and a Concealed Carry permit are at the top of my budget.

What bothers me about Oklahoma Concealed Weapons law is that you are no longer covered by the good Samaritans act. If you have a permit and see someone’s life in real danger and drawl your weapon, using deadly force you will be convicted.

I believe in them, as long as the person is throughly checked out in light of recent events (VA Tech), and that one is proficient in using a weapon and has taken a class to achieve it, it is a person's rights to bear arms,
