The two ways are to contact the manufacturer who has a chart relating serial number to which of a group of about 1500 possible numbers the lock uses. A locksmith might have that book too.

The other way is to use a lock shackle clipper. That is a very-leveraged snips with hardened steel jaws and long handles. It will snip most combo locks. That is what schools do when they need to open a locker in an emergency.

If you have time, with great patience you try all combinations.
From 0 to 999 if you have three wheels.
Or, in some simple locks, you can "feel" when every wheel is in the right position by applying some pressure on the lock handle while you turn the wheels one at a time.
Should you have no patience and no time, just break the lock !

If the lock is not presently locking something. Toss it. If it is closed and is locking something, borrow a set of bolt cutters. Or you could just shoot it with a pistol. It works all the time in the movies so it must be true. Would Hollywood lie ?

Call the manufacturer with the serial number to the lock, and they may give you the combination.

Take it to a locksmith who can shim it open...Watch out for the cost...may be cheaper to just buy another lock.
