There were 2000 mexicans at the Alamo... In the end General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna lost approximately 600 men,and the Alamo was remembered, as well as the Goliad massacre,(perpetrated by order of General Santa Anna)

Mainly because most of Santa Anna's rules, regulations and laws didn't affect them directly. They only affected the (Americano's, Anglos, gringos) who were living in Texas at the time.
The Mexicans it did affect were the large ranch owners more so than just the average working for a living Mexican.
