Does the non-religion of atheism count for you? ... It's great to share because of solid science! ... The stories around science are more moving, fullfilling and interesting than *any* set of superstitious, mythological mumbo-jumbo.

The UNIVERSE; Beginnings – Big Bang Cosmology Has…
S U P E R B ... R O C K ... S O L I D ... E V I D E N C E ! ! !
1. Expanding Universe ( What Else Is Possible? )
2. Big Bang 'Afterglow' or Heat Residue... CBR / CMB.
The BB was hypothetical with Hubble’s expanding universe & Lemaitre's circa 1930 'cosmic egg'; became a theory with Gamow in '48 (including prediction of the BB heat residue - Cosmic Background Radiation - CBR) and was widely regarded as FACT after Penzias and Wilson happened across the CBR 'afterglow' in '64 (they weren't looking) and measured it at almost the precise level of that predicted: ~2.76 degrees Kelvin.

All the above - except Priest LeMaitre - are Nobel Laureates for their contributions to BB. … The COBE satellite has since measured CBR as almost uniform throughout the Universe was nailed shut as FACT with wildly successful WMAP, including the famed precise dating of 13.7 bya.

(If you Google, CBR is also known as CMB; B=Background). Even religious organizations and sites recognise the status of BB Cosmology as 'FACT'... "After decades of struggle, other scientists came to accept the Big Bang as fact." (http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/science/sc0022.html)

LIFE'S DIVERSITY - Darwin's Theory of Evolution...
Evolution Is The Answer; and here is why… Some 95% of scientists agree with evolution and solid evidence has been accumulating since the early 1830s. Biology, botany, comparative anatomy, zoology, paleontology and much more are involved and *not one piece* of evidence has overthrown the ToE. A wide range of dating techniques has been used, and over the past few decades, DNA analysis has perfectly confirmed over 98% of earlier models, while the remaining bit was an easily handled refinement of earlier work. The fact that we've traced back pretty well to abiogenesis is another indication. One more fact: evolution's mechanisms - mutation and (artificial rather than natural) selection - is used in the pharmaceutical industry all the time. Plus... it all makes *sense* when you study it! ... (Of note, the bulk of the 5% of scientists not agreeing with the ToE are in the social sciences, as opposed to the hard sciences.)

Note that *all* of humanity is related, plus we’re all related to apes, monkeys, elephants, broccoli, amoebas, etc., right back to the Origin of Life some 3,900,000,000 years ago. And we know much about humanity’s development, and the most recent common ancestor (MRCA) for most splits back through time. And the amount of time is critical when viewing a biblical ~6,000 years -- a date discarded by science since Charles Lyell’s Principles of Geology in 1830 - a close friend of Darwin’s, BTW. (Note that this post relates to *more* than just species evolution, as does creationism and its' making of the planet.)

The extraordinarily strong evidence for this - locking it down to fact - is that we're *all* carbon-based life and even more significantly, we all use DNA as a controlling agent. To have something as beautifully complex, intricate, well-tuned and versatile as DNA ubiquitously in *all* life but *not* be related would make no logical sense at all - I can't possibly see DNA arising twice, especially on the same planet at roughly the same time – it’s simply a No-Go!. ... Make sense?

Here's Our Background... For The Past 440+ Million Years...
( MRCA = Most Recent *Common Ancestor*. )
Note 2 Monkey MRCAs ( < < ) and 1 With Chimps ( <<<<< ).
The planet took some 500,000 years to accrete from star stuff and rubble, completing some 4,550,000,000 years ago, and life took hold within the first billion years. Here’s a basic reverse timeline of life-related events (see Source):
- Y-Chromosome “Adam” (patrilineal MRCA) – 59,000 ya
- Mitochondrial “Eve” (matrilineal MRCA) – 143,000 ya
- H. sapiens sapiens (Modern Human) – 130,000 ya
- H. sapiens (Archaic: H. heidelbergensis) – 800,000 ya
- Early Genus H*m*: H. habilis, et al. – 2.5 mya
- Australopithicines (many species) – 4.5 mya
- Hominids & Chimps/bonobos (MRCA) – 5.5 mya <<<<<<<
- Above & Gorillas (MRCA) – 7.0 mya
- Above & OrangUtans (MRCA) – 14 mya
- Above & Gibbons (MRCA) – 18 mya
- Above & Old World Monkeys (MRCA) – 25 mya < <
- Above & New World Monkeys (MRCA) – 40 mya < <
- Above & Bushbabies, Lemurs (MRCA) – 63 mya
- Above & Colugos, Tree Shrews (MRCA) – 70 mya
- Above & Rodents and Rabbitkind (MRCA) – 75 mya
- Above & bears, weasels, cats, +… (MRCA) – 85 mya
- Above & rest of Placental Mammals (MRCA) – 105 mya
- Above & Mammal-like Reptiles (MRCA) – 130 mya
- Above & Reptiles (Incl. birds) (MRCA) – 310 mya
- Above & Amphibians (MRCA) – 340 mya
- Above & Lungfish (MRCA) – 417 mya
- Above & Ray-finned Fish (MRCA) – 440 mya
(The book below gets increasingly technical as other MRCAs join other life-forms, including, in order: worms, insects, barnacles, Chengjiang & Burgess Shale creatures (including early vertebrates at ~520 mya), jellyfish, coral, sponges, fungi, amoebozoans, plants, archaea, eubacteria, ribosomes, and somewhere around 3.9 bya, the Origin of Life by abiogenesis.) ... I'm a Scientologist.

Here's some factual info about my religion:

Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. It is a very practical religion.
All religions if you learn about them have a basic philosphy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances, and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this, but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does not intrude on anyones faiths of beliefs in the area of God , the Supreme Being, or the Infinite. This area is left totally up to the indivdual as pasrt of his life. It does not conflict.
It is also not a messianic religion. This means there is no worship of prophets or messiahs in Scientology. It is not faith based. A truth should be true according to ones own observation and experience.
The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognises the existence of superhuman power or powers.

The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a "thing" you HAVE but what YOU actually are.
The whole purpose of Scientology is to increase an individual's understanding and awareness of himself. and life. And to rehabilitate his native goodness, abilities and potential.
When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.

How this result is achieved is the "technology" of Scientology, which was developed by L.Ron Hubbard after his extensive research and the discoveries he made, about the human spirit. The basic religious philosophy and knowledge of Scientology is very old, going back 10,000 years at least to the Veda or Vedic Hymns from the East. L. Ron Hubbard researched and made new discoveries about the human spirit. He developed technology from these discoveries to apply to increase spiritual awareness and ability.
He completed his research before his death in 1986 and left all of his results and copyrights
to the Church of Scientology along with most of his considerable personal estate, when he died.

He published a book in 1951 to communicate the basic principles he discovered called: " Scientology The Fundementals of Thought"
There are currently over 10 million Scientologists in more than 163 countries world wide. However we are a new religion, only 53 years old.
The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher developes a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.

This is just an overview.
L. Ron Hubbard explained fully the theology and technologies of Scientology in more than 500,000 pages of writings, including dozens of books and over 2,000 tape-recorded public lectures.

Hope this gives you some idea about what it is.

I don't have a religion anymore, but I began studying The Science of Mind (Religious Science...which isn't really a religion) in the 1970s.
