Today we went to shop for bags and purses. So it's like my first time looking for brand name stuff. I'm pretty poor compare to my bf. So this seller kept talking to me ...a lot. Something unrelated to the bags and it was really annoying. But I just went along with her. I didn't know what to say much. English is my second language and sometimes I still don't express the right words at the right time.

I acted nervous because they asked where I go to school and I go to city college. They asked if I liked the brand name stuff and I don't even care about it...Sometimes they ask something I don't understand I just said "What?" "Huh?"

After we got a bag, my bf complained that I'm weak and I can't handle them on my own. He said if I didn't like them bugging me, I could have told them like this like that.

I hate when people told me I'm weak. My mom, my aunt told me this before. Now my bf? What should I do to act "strong"? I'm shy with new people especially when they talk a lot...

Shyness is not weakness, remember that. As for the sellers, just say that you are picky and that you like to do shopping on your own.

Depends on your personality. If you are annoyed by someone there are few ways to react. Be kind and explain that you can handle yourself, be "buzz off" type, or simply let them annoy you. Sellers can be pretty boring and will often stress you in their attempt to convince you to buy their stuff. If you just say that you are fine by yourself or something like "I know what I need, I don't need help" they should get the point. Or as a last resort look around and draw their attentio to other costumers...

I'm shy too, but I earned that people can be too heavy with their needs, talks and so on. Just figure a way to draw the talk to topics you are intrested in and where you can talk too. As for the sellers... Well, I already made my point.

Personally I would have told the person to mind their own business and I will shop at another business where they don't ask so many questions but answers to my questions. So what is it going to be business here or else where? Now, tell me about this product? If they keep doing that then walk out and go to another store if they treat you any better then buy and come back to the same store who kept asking too many questions and show them what you bought just like Julie Roberts did in the movie Pretty Women and say you would have made money if you would have shut up and listen to me, too late now bye. and walk out. One thing I will say you did a good job of not answering their questions and giving them information about you.

Everybody has their strengths and weaknesses. While it was completely rude of him, but did you say anything to him about it? "Hate" is a strong word. To "hate" being called something, then not say anything when it happens, falls under the category of weak. Learning how to handle your weaknesses, and get around them is the key. I have the same weakness as you do. But being that way doesn't mean you have to let people walk all over you. You can express your thoughts without picking a fight or being rude.

Your boyfriend, seeing that you were very uncomfortable should've spoken up and said that you wanted to look for a bit before deciding what you wanted. Especially if you have somewhat of a language barrier going on. He should be more considerate.

You may possibly consider finding a different boyfriend if he cannot act like a gentleman and treat you with respect.

i know how u feel i'm shy i met a old lady when i was 25 that told me if u r feeling shy and "weak" u look them in the eyes and tell them in a polite tone that you don't understand and need a few mins. to think about what you r doing.look your man in the eyes and tell him to help you if he knows so much then laugh make it seem not such a big deal.never let anyone think they r better then u or that u r scared of them because they have money.my ex was very rich or @ least his fam was.just remember no fear they respect that head up shoulders back eyes forward.good luck.

Just smile and nod. Better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it.
