There's a difference between the amount of calories your body needs to function, and how much it burns per day. You do need a certain amount to function correctly.

If you eat fewer calories than you can burn off, then it will, over time, result in weight loss. If you eat around 1200 calories a day for a minimum of several weeks, then that should bring some results. (But don't forget to excercise!)

Yeah you'll lose weight. I'm supposed to have uhhh like 1,350 calories or something, but I never eat that much. I dont try to cut back I just dont eat a lot. Actually though if you dont consume the amount of calories you need there is a chance after a while you will in a physical state of Anorexia where your body weight is 15% less than it should be or something. I dont know its your choice I eat like 700 calories a day and I'm thin and happy! Its up to you and if you dont want to eat the calories you need, go ahead dont let people stop you.

If you continue to consume less calories than your body needs, you will kill your metabolism. You will eventually lose weight, but slowly. It can also cause you to become very tired and unhealthy. You should try to eat 6 small meals a day if you are looking to lose weight. Also try to drink 8 8oz glasses of water per day. Try not to hate calories so much, they are what keep you alive.

no not at all. Your body holds on to food and calories for energy when you do not eat a lot or enough which results in your metabolism slowing down . Eating foods high in fibber will help boost metabolism and help keep you full and away from junk foods. You can check how much calories you burn daily so that you make sure you consume enough calories at http://health.discovery.com/tools/calculators/basal/basal.html

All food/drinks contain calories.

If you do not eat enough calories, your body goes into starvation mode and it will hold on to ALL your stored fat and calories to protect your vital organs--so you WON'T lose weight.

Never eat less than 1,200 calories a day.
