I was raised as a Christian. To be very specific, as a southern Baptist. Baptists seem to be an all or nothing group. Many Baptists have been born again from a life of extreme sin, while others have been Baptists for generations. Idols and fancy things are almost non existant inside the church. Everyone has a bible in hand and ready to quote a verse. Dialog about the written word is encouraged quite a bit and everyone is very happy but quiet at the same time (some churches are different). They really don't like gays, transvestites, or just any average wierdo. Organ on one side and a piano on the other. A small chior in the middle and there you have it. Ten minutes of feel good before getting you into a serious, serious, speech (sermon) about some part of the bible. At the end of the service, the people that have not been saved (look it up, it's important) are asked to come up and receive christ. then the offering plate is passed around to pay for the staff and the building. sunday school is optional prior to the hour long service. 30-45 minutes is devoted to a sermon that has taken a week or so to prepare.

I worshiped as a child in a Baptist church, but then got too busy as a young adult. Looking back on it, I'm starting to understand more and more of the message. I've been reading about Budhism and many of the principals can be found in Christianity as well. I think that baptists are so emersed in the bible, that they may loose some of the ability to just think about what christ was like. I'd rather meet the author than read the book, but that's how baptists do it. Read that Bible! Don't get me wrong. the bible is the anchor and we need to be reminded when we are off course, but in the mean time, we need to live as Jesus did. My sincere beliefe is that Jesus was the son of God. By knowing more about Jesus, we can be closer to God. The bible can help with that, God makes it easy for us to be one of his children and be happy. You have to have an open heart. John chapter 3 vs. 16 is very popular with the Baptists. "God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that he that belives in him shall not parish, but have everlasting life."

in other words. Understand that God was such a caring God to us that he gave as much as he could to us. (in our world that would be an only son). Not only that, but Jesus went around telling us how to live too. If you believe that he is the son of God, then that sort of opens the gateway to receiving and understanding Gods word. From then on, you have a place in heaven. Baptists really want to help save you. It's just the same as if you saw a man that couldn't swim fall overboard. You would give him something that floats.

I don't really follow a religion, I kind of lead mine. I consider myself Eclectic. I've basically made my own religion that I feel is just right just for me from what I have learned of other religions and ideas and beliefs I like so I have borrowed.

Religion can be a dangerous thing if it is man's religion, only the religion of Jesus Christ will get us through the narrow gate of Heaven.

First Human being Adam (pbuh), worshiped One True God Almighty.
He also taught the same to his children. But as population on earth increased, Human dispersed on earth.
With the passage of time deviations and distortions induced within the true and original teachings.
That is why God Almighty sent almost 124,000 Prophets and Messengers to different Nations., in different places, and in different times.

Prophet Abraham preached, worship one true God Almighty only.
Prophet Moses preached the same.
Prophet Jesus, and Muhammad (p.b.u. them both) also brought same message.
All Prophets taught us everything belongs to God Almighty, and God Almighty is the creator of everything.
We should surrender our self to The God Almighty, and spend life according to the Wish of God Almighty.

Every Prophet of God Almighty came with one basic message, that is worship one true God. Obey One true God.

Submitting our Will completely to The Will of Almighty is called " ISLAM ".

Islam is not founded by Prophet Muhammad(pbuh).
He was The Last and Final Messenger and Prophet Of God, in series of Prophets, like Prophet Abraham, Moses, Jesus (pbu all of them).
