Here are some things to try:

Apply crushed garlic and honey, alternately to the affected area.
Or, put crushed raw garlic over the affected area and cover it with sterile gauze or a cotton ball that allows air to penetrate. do not cover it tightly with adhesive tape or a plastic bandage. These will promote dampness.

There are 3 types of ring worm Tinea Pedis(Athletes Foot) Tinea Capitis(On Scalp) and Tinea Unguium(Affect Nails) In my opinion the best treatment for all of these is the use of anti fungal agents over the counter like lotrimin or tinactin if that doesn't work I'm sure your doctor would prescribe something for you.

This is what my son did, DO AT YOUR OWN RISH. He got ring worm from a cat, put bleach on it. It killed it fast, but left a burnt like scar for a week then went away. Again Do @ your own risk.
The cat must see a vet to get rid of its ring worm, scales fall off the cat an any person or animal that contacts the scales gets ring worms. Drug stores have cream for your ring worm.
Good Luck.

I don't know what kind of "stuff you have in your house" first of all, ring worm is a fungus, not a worm. You'll have to use an anti-fungal creme. You can get this from over the counter from the pharmacy.
