I am proud of myself for being a good teacher and for being a good friend. No,it's nothing other than what I should be doing anyway.

I am proud of myself for going out of my way to help people to feel good about themselves.
Whether anyone ought to be doing that anyway is a matter of opinion.

I am rather self effacing, so talking about being proud of myself is tough. I think the proudest I was this year was when I found a very rare bird here in San Antonio, a Short-tailed Hawk. I know that sounds goofy to those of you who are not birders, but it was a big deal to me. It really shouldn't be a matter of pride, as it was dumb luck that I found it, but the fact that I was able to identify it pleased me tremendously. I also found a Swainson's Warbler, a first record for our county. I was very jazzed about that one too!

Too confused about 'pride' as it is a deadly sin, so I really don't know. People say good things about me, but this only brings up all my faults.
And as you say - whatever else I do - I do because I should do it anyway.
So - nothing? Weird being old and nothing is my answer.

I am proud of myself for following my heart and sticking strong to my beliefs, even if they are not so popular with others. I am my own person and I am finally allowing myself to be that person.
