"An illegal alien who has taken refuge in a Chicago-area church after defying federal law by refusing to follow a deportation order now is calling for the suspension of the nation's immigration laws and a "campaign of resistance."

Arellano has been confined – voluntarily – to a church in the Chicago area since Aug. 15 to avoid being deported. She said such a moratorium would allow time for the U.S. to "revive and pass a comprehensive immigration reform."

Without such action, her statement continued, immigrant organizations would launch a campaign "aimed at bringing this government and this economy to a halt."

Sounds like a Terrorist threat to me.
What do you think?

Certified: Employee "A" would be fired. Employee "B" would also be fired and if they tried to follow through on their threat would become dead in short order.

She should be arrested and if any church official interferes he should be arrested also. In what other country could I march myself into a church and start demanding people give me citizens rights even though I am in that country illegally? I would be looking down the barrel of a gun likely, or out through the bars of a jail cell.

What Arellano and her associates are advocating is having those of Latino descent refuse to do the work they are currently doing which would have a decidedly negative impact on the USA economy. This is an economic sanction. The result of this sanction would impact the government because [the government] would be required to make an effort to replace the lost workworce.

That isn't an act of terrorism. Terrorism is the use or threatened use of force or violence. There is no force or violence involved in what Arellano is advocating, merely a stopping of work.

By perceiving such things as this as terrorism, we risk the chance of undermining the true threat of terrorism. Here's an example of why this is so:

Let's say you are the owner of a small restaurant. Employee A tells you if you don't pay him/her an extra dollar for every hour they work, they will sit down and refuse to work when the lunch crowd arrives. Employee B tells you that if you don't pay him/her the extra dollar per hour, they are going to set fire to something you care about. You don't know if it's your car, your restaurant, your pets.

Employee A is advocating economic sanctions against you by saying they won't work when you need them the most. Employee B is using terrorist threats.

As you can see, the threat by Employee B is much more frightening because it is violent than the one from Employee A. In the interest of keeping violent threats on a higher level than those that are not violent, we should always be cautious about designating things "terrorist".

Absolutely. Home-grown terrorists are by far the most dangerous.

Arellano needs a few hours of water-boarding in Gitmo with her al Qaeda comrades.

Enforce the immigration laws, at gunpoint if necessary, and DEPORT THEM ALL.

what do i think? they should go into that communist church and drag the b****h out by her hair and send her straight to prison. there are more Americans who put money in to this economy then illegals do. if Americans was to have a walk out for one day this country would come to a screeching halt.

There will always be resistance from people and supporters like you that allow human injustices and crimes against humanity. Racism like your statements are the only way to stir up organizations like these. Good for them.
