Bowing seem like lying. I'm not REALLY praying. It seems...fake to me. I will tell my children "please be respectful, they're going to pray."
My kids bow their heads. It's their choice. I stand and don't bow and don't close my eyes. If kids "peek" to see what I'm doing I wink and stick out my tongue (unless it's at a funeral)

I'm not Atheist but my friend is, and just out of respect, I suggest that you bow your head and go along with it, without praying of course. You wouldn't want to be rude and just stare out into space while they're praying and give a bad impression. My other friend is Christian and he feels quite strongly about the religion, so I think it might offend them if you just sat there while they were praying. Hope this helps =)

I'm neither Atheist nor Christian. If i am having dinner at a Christian's household, I would respect their beliefs and bow my head as they prayed. It's not a matter of believing, it is a matter of respect. It is the same respect they show me by having a vegetarian meal available even though they eat meat.

What would be the point of making a scene, bow head and go along who have you hurt. weather you believe in god or not, showing love and fellowship will make your life better here, and if it turns out you are wrong and their is a god, love will get you a better seat.

I sit quietly while they pray, but I do not bow my head. My husband and I usually exchange funny looks at each other across the table.

im silent and bow my head but dont close my eyes. I believe everyone has a right to believe the way they wish too as long as it doesnt hurt anyone and them praying isnt hurting anyone. so i just respect them as long as they respect me.

As an Atheist, I take a seat quietly till they are finished, in the event that they are in my abode and desire to desire, they are able to do an identical. inspite of the incontrovertible fact that a chum of my Dads stopped over one time and made a ingredient of letting my young babies be conscious of they hadn't suggested grace while they began to consume, embarrassing them of their very own abode. for useful, I shot lower back at as quickly as and suggested him that the Virgin Mary did not care what replaced into for dinner, which close him suitable up, because of the fact he replaced right into a Born lower back, confident that Catholics are hell sure. Later I suggested my Dad that he does not be invited lower back because of the fact of his demeanor.

My family is Christian.
I just sit in silence but don't bow my head or pray and wait until they're done.

Might lower my head a little...only so they can't see me laughing... Only joking, I would bow my head a little but not close my eyes..and certainly not pray.
