Oranges are mostly water, fiber, and carbohydrate. You're getting sugar for energy from them, some vitamin C, and not a lot else. The same will be true of apples.

Whether you lose weight on this diet is of course partly a function of how many oranges and apples you eat. A calorie is a calorie, and if you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight. But you'd have to eat a lot of oranges to put on weight. An orange or an apple, either one, has about 50 calories. If your usual daily calorie burn is 2,000, you would need to eat 20 apples and 20 oranges a day to stay even.

These are all estimates, of course. A lot depends on your size, metabolic rate, activity level...and the size of the apples and oranges.

Oranges mainly have carbohydrates in the form of sugar and fiber. Carbohydrates that are not burned before you go to bed turn into fat. It is possible if you eat the oranges before bedtime, then those sugars will turn into fat. However, not all sugars are created equal. Sugars from fruits and vegetables are much better than sugars found in soda and candy. Therefore your body will be able to more efficiently burn those sugars. I eat between 6-10 cuties a day and have been losing weight for weeks. I just try to eat them before dinner time, then cut out all carbs completely from 6pm til i go to bed.

I'm pretty sure oranges don't make you put on weight. Oranges are rich in vitamin C and are good for you. It's really healthy and eating them won't harm you.
The only kinds of food that will really affect your weight are the ones you find at fast food restaurants and all.
Stick to the fruits.

No eating oranges is not going to put on weight, instead it is good for health like any other fruit.

Orange juice sold in market is bad because of its high sugar content and this should be avoided.

When your on a diet, you shouldn't eat too little or too much. If you eat too little, you can get dizzy and faint when you're doing your 2 mile walk.
And, well you know what happens when you eat too much. Am I right?
Do you get the picture?
Oh, and no, oranges don't cause more weight.

oranges will help u LOSE weight because they contain water and fiber which fill u up and the fiber cleans ur digestive tract making it more efficient.
avoid too much orange juice which lacks the fiber and is very energy dense. u would like to lose the excess energy from pizzas and hamburgers rather than burning calories u got from drinking orange juice.

No... You'd have to eat an awful LOT of fruit to gain weight (and you'd probably LOSE it all- in the bathroom when you got the "runs" !!!). You should eat alot of Vegetables- too, for fiber, bulk, a few carbs & vitamins. A strictly "fruit" diet- is going to get you into trouble... A "Balanced Diet" is THE name of the game... :)

You probably will, but you need a variety of veggies and fruits. Fruits have a lot of natural sugars and veggies are better and more filling. Veggies don't tend to have as much liquid as fruits so they stay with you longer. You should also take a multi-vitamin if you have stopped eating everything else.

if you put them in your pockets...ha ha ha. seriously, though, the only way to lose weight is to take in fewer calories than are necessary to maintain your weight. you would be better off eating a variety of reasonable, low-fat, high-fiber, healthful foods than limiting yourself to 2 foods. good luck :)

no food makes you put on weight if you don't overeat it. Just eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, stop when you are not hungry anymore and voila!
