My husband is in the Air Force, he's an E-3. I have been recently thinking about joining the Air Force myself, I've had schooling so I will be an E-2 when I go to basic training. I am hoping to get a medical job, and my husband's a fire fighter. What are the chances of us getting the same base if we file for joint spouse?

the chances are not very good, there is no guarantees when you join the military

It's pretty good, as long as both of your jobs are not specific to a certain base and/or theater. Since there is a fire station and a med group on nearly every base, odds are good you would get joint spouse assignments.

Good luck :)

edit: One suggestion though. It might be a good idea to wait to enlist near a PCS. The reason is that if you enlist halfway through his assignment and you get stationed with him, when it's time for him to PCS, you'll still have to fulfill your obligation.

Lie. the protection rigidity does not could do a damn factor...in basic terms what's excellent for them. My spouse is a military Nurse i became military for 8 years...military has a Married application the place they ninety 3% of the time placed married military couples at the same time. there's no application in ANY branch that ensures spouses of different branches will or could be at the same time or 50 miles from one yet another. have faith me, we dug by alot of information in this. It does not take place. chop up branch marriages suck and are doomed an incredible form of the time. I had one 365 days left and accompanied ger snce she is an Officer. you're no longer even married yet and go with to bypass into chop up branches????? poor thought. Why in the hell might you as new recruits no longer connect the comparable branch? Your next 3 or 4 years of existence somewhat as newlyweds is going to be tough

I am a 20 yr Navy Veteran, my advice is don't do it, I saw so many joint marriages fail. if you want to get in the medical Field your better off joining your local Fire dept and become an EMT. and as for getting stationed together that is never a guarantee. the military never makes promises. good luck.

i know couples who are Marines and they are stationed in the same base. They also work in the same Battallion. I also know couples who are Marines and don't work together.

and If that's what you want to do, then go for it. don't let anyone tell you not to go for your dream. i'm sure the chances of you guys being in the same base are good.

good luck.

well, the good news is, both of your job specialties are available at just about every base, so your chances are pretty good.
