Truth is offensive to most.
But you still need to be honest.
Tactful helps to but not at the cost of truth.

The Truth is not offensive. I don't think believers here are offended that non-believers choose not to see their Truth anymore than non-believers are offended that the believers choose not to see their truth. What is offensive is when one judges or ridicules the other because of their beliefs. I am not offended one bit that an atheists chooses not to believe what I consider to be the truth, but I am offended when they judge me because of every decision made in the past based on "Christian" beliefs that I had nothing to do with. I'm offended when they cannot see that believers are humans and do make mistakes and erroneously assume Christians go about sinning non stop because we can ask for forgiveness. I'm offended when a Christian tells an atheist they are evil. Being offended by the Truth is merely being offended by someone's opinion.

Midge, you ask versions of this question ALL the time on here. What issue do you have with offending people?
Again, Christ preached love and acceptance. Sorry, but it's true. Just read John.
Yes, truth can be offensive ("That dress makes your butt look enormous!") but if you say the same thing in love, it doesn't have to be offensive ("I think the red dress is a better choice.")

There is no question that 'the truth is offensive to some'. (Just look at how many people Jesus Christ Himself offended by simply declaring the TRUTH). - They murdered Him over it!
But if given the choice of what to 'stand upon' and what to 'commit my conversation to', it most certainly must be the 'truth' instead of any denial of it.
If certain people 'can't handle the truth',...that is their own personal problem,...not yours.
Jesus declared, "Know the truth and the truth will set you free;" (John 8:32). Amen.

I know what you mean. My honesty gets me into trouble sometimes. Seems as though people would rather live a life of lies. I cant abide in telling lies. I tell the truth no matter what. If it offends someone, then that is their problem not mine, because I live a truthful and honest life. There is no reason on God's earth to lie about anything.

That's silly. We all offend someone at times. That's just the way this site works. For someone to tell someone else not to offend others on here is like giving a child a cookie and telling him not to eat it. lol That person obviously needs to go hang out on hobbies and crafts or polls and surveys where no one will offend them.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Mar 6:18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
Mar 6:19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
Mar 6:20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and a holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
Mar 6:21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
Mar 6:22 And the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
Mar 6:23 And he swore unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
Mar 6:24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
Mar 6:25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
Mat 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
If people are offended by the Truth, they need to be offended.
1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
I am always ready as I am now; but sometimes that "meekness and fear" part gets me. Please pray for me that I not be offensive unless led by the Spirit. If the Spirit is offensive, you're probably talking to a viper.

The Truth is offensive to most.
But there is no need to tell others the Truth.
Just live it.
The Truth will prove them to be liars.
You don't have to.

We can not help it if people are offended by the truth.
We can only pray that God will give us the words to use and the correct spirit to say them in.
