Well, I don't want to sound like an advertisement, but I just lost 1.8kg in my first week with Weight Watchers and I tried many other diets before, this seems to work just great and I still eat most of the food I usually eat and like.

The humanity can be grouped in two: the ones that prefer a big butt, and the ones that prefer a tiny butt. Both are right. Swim, walk, play ball, go dancing. Big butt you will have if you don't loose all your weight, and have the genes. If you end up with a tiny bottom revel in wearing tight jeans anyway.
I hope you will not become obsessed with weight and food, but maintain a healthy diet and love your body! A fun vacation is more a question of attitude than bikini-size...
Exercise WILL affect your bodyshape, but not give you proportions that aren't within your genetic possibilities. But it will define your waist, make thighs slimmer, reduce sellulitis, bring forth your bonestructure in face, etc.
Recipes: no chips, no crisps, no pizza, no mayo, nothing with sugar. no alcohol! no sodas.
Lots of salads, apples, melons, strawberries, pineapple and peaches. Fish, lean chicken. Olive oil or yoghurt for dressings. Brown rice and broccoli. Carrots for a snack. Lots of unsweetened/unflavored water or herbal tea.
Eat a little of everything, never a lot.
and yes, forget low carb-diet, not good for you.
Have a great vacation!

If you don't have curves and a big butt you may not need to lose a lot of weight.
There are only three kinds of exercise, some build muscle and some help lose weight and make your heart stronger the others make you more flexible.
Muscle building is great because muscle looks thinner than fat does and burns more calories. Things like push ups and weight lifting will build muscles they are slow and hard some like leg lifts will build stomach muscles. Lay on your tummy and left your feet then hold that for as long as you can to build butt muscles or do lots of stair climbing.
To build your heart, lungs and burn calories you need to move steadily for at least 20 minutes at a time with things like treadmill, jogging, walking, running, swimming and biking it raises your heart rate and helps burn calories for hours after.
The last is flexibility that is stretching putting your body through the full range of motion, touch your toes without bending your knees or sit on the flour and lean forward with legs in different positions. You do these really slow so you can feel the stretch but don't jerk or you will tear muscles. These prevent injuries and should be done before other exercises.
For food eat 4 oz of lean protein like fish or childen or lean steak, 1/2 cup pasta or 1 slice of bread or a tiny potato each meal then fill up on low calorie veggies like lettuce, celery, greenbeans and have no more than one serving of high calorie veggies like winter squash, carrots, and peas.

Exercise will not change your body shape. Fast weight loss is not going to happen. You need to change your way of thinking about food and practice that for life to lose and maintain a reasonable weight. Cut back on fat-that is most snacks, ice cream, desserts, dairy and meat.
Follow the food pyramid you can find on the net- lots of fruit and veggies, salads. Limit meat to a portion no bigger than a cigarette pack once a day. Control portion size. You might want to use Slimfast for one or two meals a day- but that means only slimfast and a portion of fruit- no eating between meals. There is alot of data on the net- forget fad diets -they do not work. Good luck.

For great exercise tips and how to target specific areas, go to prevention.com but realize that any exercise program is just going to begin showing after about 6 weeks.
As far as healthy eating....no fast food, no white flour, change to 100% whole wheat bread, no sugar. Increase veggies and fruits, nothing fried. Meat and poultry in small amounts. Fats in small quantities.
For a great way to lose....usually around 2 lbs per week, go to weightwatchers.com. I lost 40 pounds that way about 3 years ago and kept most of it off. It's sensible but not so restrictive that it makes it hard to do. No food is off limits, you just have to stay within your points value. WW online is great and will cost around $15.00 per month. It's worth it!
