Not believing in something doesn't make it false, in the same way, believing in something does not make it true.

Not believing in something does little about the reality of its truth.

Many children believe in Santa Clause. It doesn't change the fact that he is a myth.

Many people believe in Intelligent Design is science. That belief doesn't make it science.

Not believing something for which there is ample proof makes the non-believer delusional.

Not believing is something for which there is no proof is rational.

I can not see how a personal belief in something outside yourself can influence the true-ness / false-ness of the subject.

For personal beliefs in something inside yourself things are different. You can feel yourself worthless if you belief you are worthless even if you are not.

depends if it is true or not.
if its is really true and not just a believe then its true.
if its justa believe then its possibly false, especially if its something that seems too good to be true.

No, but it makes it unuseable for the individual holding the (dis)belief.

If you think a sound stepladder is rotten it doesn't make it so, but you won't climb up it.

(But trusting a rotten stepladder would demonstrate that positive faith alone doesn't determine reality either.)
