I took two sips from a glass (no straw) that someone else took a single sip via a straw from. Is there any likelihood of contracting a disease from doing this. The person is known to be in good health, known them for several years, though I haven't seen them much recently. It could be that I'm being paranoid and have a touch of hypochondria, but it would be nice to put the fears to rest.

dont worry about it...the percentage of geting a disease passed on by saliva is like .05 percent...the only disease your could get is SARS but very unlikely and herpes (cold sores).

If the person just sucked up the drink, guess it should not hurt. However, you don't know if a little saliva from your friend's mouth went through the straw and entered the drink too. It's too late if you caught any virus or bacteria. Just be careful not to share next time. For me, in such a situation, I'd pray because I have faith that Jesus Christ will protect me. He has never failed me all these years.

Don't worry about it so much, next time be careful. A friend took a big drink out of a coke can of another friend. The other friend use the can to collect the effluent from a sewer disposal site for testing. He puked for some time.

It shouldn't be a problem, but best not to do it.
I once picked up a coke can at a party and took a drink out of it, only to find that someone had dropped their cigarette butt into it. Yeuuuck...
