Alcohol is alcohol, no matter what the vehicle. It is more a matter of whether you let yourself get dehydrated or if you drink too much at one time.
(No, it makes no difference to me at all if I mix them)

I really like Cricket's answer and generally stick to this too. Usually start of with either beer or wine and when I get fed up with that move onto vodka with red bull or jack daniels with coke. Never feel sick, but used to when I was younger. Might be an age and tolerance thing..........

Think what happens is when people start out with lighter alcohol drinks, they start to lose their inhibitions. Then they start drinking hard liquor at the rate they drank beer. By the time they realize how drunk they are, the hard liquor is already in their system doing it's magic and cause the overload which leads to a chow blowing contest.

It definitely depends on how much of each. What you drink wouldn't make me sick, but double or triple that amount and I might be. I usually stick with one thing just to be safe.
