Well first off let me say that you can NOT spot reduce, meaning you can just lose weight from your stomach and thighs. You lose fat from wherever it is most prevalent on your body.

Anyways there is no secret to losing weight and getting healthy. You just have to burn more calories then you are consuming and you will lose weight, that's all. At your age I would try to get around 1500 calories a day and no more. If you are not losing weight after about a week then lower that number to around 1300, but do NOT go any lower than that.

Try to stick to eating a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, and stay away from things that are high in fat. Also try and do about 30 min of cardio every day. That can be walking or jogging, riding a bike, playing a sport, whatever you enjoy doing.

If you have any questions email me and let me know, I'd be glad to help more.

Well Kristen: your still maturing, you have, I don't want to hurt you but, you still have some "baby fat" on you, sorry.

This will come off naturally as you age, your organs start giving out certain hormones, especially when you start your periods, if you already haven't, you'll be changing and fast. You'll start getting that "girlish" look all young girls get.

In the meantime my grandson weighted 269 and was just 20 years old. He was :"fat" loose fat.
He felt bad like you and, started walking, he walked a mile a day at first, then two, then three. Pretty soon he was up to five miles a day and, drank lots of water.
He ate more veggies and less red meats, more fowl and fish. Within a year, he dropped down to 160 and is holding that, he looks good.

The only way to lose weight is to eat fewer calories than you burn. You're only 12 so your body is still growing so do not skip meals or starve yourself. And you're already active so keep that up. Don't drink soda especially regular with sugar. Drink either water or flavored water. Even sports drinks have sugar you don't need. Chocolate milk is better for you, but also has a lot of sugar so treat it as a dessert. Avoid extra sugar, eat whole grain bread instead of white, the fiber fills you up and your body takes longer to metabolize foods with fiber. This way you don't get your insulin to spike up and then drop off. That's what happens when you eat a lot of sugar or simple sugars and when the "buzz" or rush of energy leaves you and you feel tired and hungry again. Eat low fat or some fat free dairy products. (milk, cheese, yogurt) Eat vegetables and fruit that have fiber and other nutrients your body needs. Don't put a lot of stuff on them--butter, dips --that have fat and calories. Be sure to get enough protein such as lean meats, chicken, turkey, nuts, this will fill you up and keep you building muscle, not fat. Good luck!! Your family will be impressed with you no matter what, especially if they see you eating so well!

Work out an hour a day, 4 -5 times a week, hide your scale because muscles weigh more than fat and its a letdown when you dont see immediate results, and do things like jogging for cardio, situps, an exercise another poster on another question described sounds good to, you stand with your legs about 2 feet apart, arms straight out and reach over with right hand to touch left toes. back up and left hand bend to touch right toes... squats are good...
Go to the site I've referenced, scroll down to:
Select The Home Exercise For More Information

and you can get a description on how to do different exersices...
Good luck, kid...

Hun dont use any products....
my advise is do platis either everyday for 30 minutes or every other day for 1 hour.also dont eat fatty foods. Did u know that 2 bites of a chocolate bar is anough to satisfy ur craving. Try taking smaller portions of healthier food! Drink lots water! ;)
goodluck.

You're 12 years old and you want to show off your body to your family and friends? What's wrong with this picture? Please just go and enjoy yourself and stop being so self-centered. And you'd probably impress people more with your intelligence and winning personality. Sheesh.

only eat as much as you need to not to be hungry-and eat all healthy stuff-you know fruits and veggies and everything. and exercise alot. i know thats what you always hear but it works!! just run or ride your bike everyday. if you're totally diein 4 a sweet, then have one-but just a small one, or have something sweet but still good for you, like a homemade smoothie.
good luck!
