they dont regret, it they just feel guilty,it does not bother me one bit, i would not want to be next to someone who did not want to be there.

Most of the men I have met were always somewhat apologetic about not having served when the subject came up. And to be honest I always thought a little more of another vet than I did of a civilian.

My little brother always wanted to join the Marines. But since I was in the Army at the time my parents pressured him not to do it because they didn't want to loose "two" sons. Yes he does regret it to this day, parents shouldn't say anything. My advice, do what you want to do or you'll regret it.

Some of my friends do regret it. .They were either talked out of it or decided otherwise.
I don't think everyone regrets it. It would be huge morale drop to be next to someone that really didn't want to be there.

WRONG. My brother was 4-F during Vietnam, and it's a good thing he was never drafted, because he's a chicken s**t. He's glad he didn't have to.

No, it is not true. I don't know any one of my friends in college being any bit unhappy that their friends are in iraq.... and they aren't.
