i just typed psalm 100:4 in an answer, and it made me wonder...

in the lutheran church we practice this through liturgy. i'm guessing episcopalians and presbyterians might do the same, but i don't know. who else has chants and canticles and introits and graduals and stuff?

We certainly do in the Lutheran Church. Plainsong, also called Gregorian Chant are also used in the Roman Church,(although usually only in monastery's and convents, and when the old Tridentine Latin Mass is celebrated) and the Anglican Church, as they (and us) also use another more harmonious form known as Anglican Chant.

Some Methodists, Presbyterians, Quakers, Amish and Mennonite use chants sporadically, but not in a Liturgical setting.

These forms are exclusive to the Western Church. The Eastern orthodox use various different forms and styles. Some of the liturgical music of the Russian Orthodox Church sung in seven part harmony without accompaniment is probably the most beauty-full expression of Scripture ever set to music.

I still prefer the historic liturgies of our Lutheran Church. Probably it's the familiarity thing!

Comparative faith study? I in basic terms evaluate the bible in identifyng actual Christians. John 13:34-35 says they have love for one yet another. this potential they don't have interaction themselves in warfare and stay impartial in political conflicts. In Luke 4:40 3 Jesus confirmed the importance of preaching the good information of the dominion in his existence. actual Christians stick to that. (a million Peter 2:21-22) those are in basic terms some that can not be present day in Catholics and Protestants. yet i nonetheless understand them, as a former Catholic i do no longer intend to make any judgements approximately them. we are no longer protestants. we don't have faith in Trinity. i do no longer what's your foundation of Christianity being divided in basic terms in to 2 (technically). The bible shows clean marks of actual Chrisitianity. thank you for asking

I'm part of a small independent church, and we have a contemporary worship team. They are pretty versatile, actually. They will play country, blues, ragga and soft rock.

(Psa 100:4 NIV) Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

Almost all bible believing protestant churches have a praise time.
