It depends on a few factors. The type of crown , eg. gold , porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, etc. Porcelain has very poor flexion therefore cracks and breaks easier, therefore not advised for back teeth. Some people don't like gold showing in their mouth therefore you can have a PFM crown. A gold crown with a buccal facing is more ideal as gold wears at a similar rate to teeth. Porcelain on the other hand wears away your natural teeth. Gold crowns generally have the best prognosis. Hygiene also plays a huge part.
Good Luck

On average, dental crowns last for about 10 -15 years or more. It really depends on how well you take care of it and what kind of crown you have (gold or porcelain). Gold crowns generally last longer than porcelains, even though porcelain ones look better. Porcelains have a tendency to chip if it is old and you frequently grind your teeth (bruxism) or bite on something hard.
Tooth decay can still occur even when you have a crown so make sure you give it some good home care. Decay can occur along the gum line or under the crown. Continue flossing and brushing so the crown stays clean. And keep up with your routine checkups with the dentist because xrays can help with detecting decay under crowns or on crown margins.

It depends on many factors. When the dentist places the crown he/she is hoping for 20 years++ but it can last as little as 5 years. With a good dentist placing the crown, a good prognosis on the tooth and excellent home care(brushing at least twice a day, flossing every night) it should last at least 20 years.

depends how good they are and where they are.
I have 4 on my back molars (gold) which were fitted when I was pregnant with my son - 23 years ago. The dentisr said they would last dor 10 years and they are still going strong. But i had a couple on my front teeth and they lasted about 5 years and were nothing but trouble.
