The truth is a sword that cuts both ways;
that sword is the mouth of God, and Gods Word tells us the truth we need to know.
The truth hurts to the point of pain for many in this generation. Instead of heeding to the truth of God, they have decided to destroy the Word of God, along with the truths of God and along with the Children of God.
"LETS GET RID OF THAT LIGHT".

If you were a bank robber, the last thing you want to see is the spotlight of the FBI guy
shining down on you. Same thing here.

The reaction has been to get rid of that
truth; get rid of the truth, or make it seem as if its false instead, is their remedy for the
wrongs they do and the sins they are not ready to do without. The sin owns them, entirely.
If you do not cuddle up and join in with their sin, you are a hater, a bigot, a person who has no compassion, etc.
They attack your children in the schools,
they replace a man of God as head of a Church with someone who swears that God
does not find anything wrong with their sin;
in fact, God LOVES them anyway.
Well, God does love them, but thats not gonna save them; they will account for their sin and for all those of Gods children that
they attack. Every single action against
the Living God and His people will be
paid for. Nothing that offends will remain.

Their reaction is only the destruction of themselves. Lack of Knowledge will be the downfall of man: all knowledge comes from God. If they dismiss God they dismiss knowledge. If they dismiss knowledge, they
destroy themselves.

Thankfully, we do not have to put up with
them for very much longer; I wish they would repent and change their ways, but
my wish and five bucks will get ya a coffee just about anywhere ya wanna go. Each person has to sail their own ship, and I see many a ship sailing in very dangerous waters. It is a shame, and I feel so badly about it, but quite frankly, they do it to themselves and it is getting very hard to love them when they parade their sin in the very face of God in His own House; It is
a blatent insult to the Living God of Israel,
of which I am fully and absolutely devoted to. They will have to lie in the bed they have made for themselves.

In different ways. Some become angry and defensive. Some try to avoid the truth with rationalization. Some recognize the truth, and accept it. Truth is an interesting concept. If five individuals witness an fairly complicated event, each will perceive the "truth" of the incident differently.

1 And now it came to pass that after I, Nephi, had made an end of speaking to my brethren, behold they said unto me: Thou hast declared unto us hard things, more than we are able to bear.
2 And it came to pass that I said unto them that I knew that I had spoken hard things against the wicked, according to the truth; and the righteous have I justified, and testified that they should be lifted up at the last day; wherefore, the guilty taketh the truth to be hard, for it cutteth them to the very center.
3 And now my brethren, if ye were righteous and were willing to hearken to the truth, and give heed unto it, that ye might walk uprightly before God, then ye would not murmur because of the truth, and say: Thou speakest hard things against us.
4 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did exhort my brethren, with all diligence, to keep the commandments of the Lord.

The truth will only "hurt" or be "unpleasant" to someone who has not accepted that truth.

There are 2 ways to react to an "unpleasant" truth...A person can either:
1. Embrace the truth and accept it.
OR
2. Deny the truth and reject it.

how do "most" people react...hmm...there seems to me to be many that accept new truths, but there also seems to me to be many who reject or deny truths that are new to them...
I can't really say what "most" do though...

Because the truth (why do you capitalize it?) only hurts when you believe it? I don't know what you mean. Are you referring to the Truth of your religion? Why do you think it hurts others? I truly do not understand your point.

Whether the truth "hurts” or the truth "sets you free” depends completely on which side of the truth you’re standing on.

If they have a bible trained conscience it will reach their heart...because the heart is the bodies seat of motivation.

When we are cut to the heart by being reproved we feel pain. When we see the effects of our selfishness we feel pain.

The truth is there to train our hearts to do what is right in God's eyes.

They go into a state of denial and then they eventually shut down and isolate themselves from certain people who don't agree with their way of thinking.
