We just got a new female kitten and we have had an Adult female cat for about 2 years which we tookin as a stray, the kitten is also a stray. The kitten looks like she is about 10 or 12 weeks old. I cleaned out the litter tray and put fresh litter in it and put her in it to get the feel for it, but keep finding little piles of you know what in the tub, so I scoop them up and place them in the tray and then go get her and set her in the tray to get her to cover them up. But she doesnt and just runs out. What can I do to get the two cats to share one litter box without having to buy and find space for another one, or does the kitten just need "more training"? I dont know if this helps but the adult is spayed. Also the kitten has been wormed and doesnt have worms or anything and has also had a flea bath

You have to have two litter boxes and put one of them in the tub.

It is actually good practice to have one litter box per cat. They are territorial and she can probably smell the other cat in the litter box and wants her own. If you don't want the expense of a real litter box try getting a a cheap tin foil turkey roasting pan and placing litter in it for her. Make sure you clean out the tub really well, so that she can't smell where she has gone before. If the roasting pan outside of the tub doesn't work, place it in the tub when you are not using it. See if she begins to use it then. Once she is using it consistently, you can can begin to slowly move it back toward where you would like to keep it. Eventually they may share a litter box, but that is something you will just have to wait and see about.

Since cats are fastidious by nature, make sure you clean the boxes twice a day until your kitten is always using the litter box. Then you can cut back to once a day if it is easier. Good luck!

If your litter box is in the bathroom, then move it into another location so that the kitten can not get into the bathtub when you close the door. Also, cats are very neat, that is why they cover there waiste. So, make sure that the cats aren't sleeping by there litter box, and then they should go in the litter box. The kitten might go in the bathtub, because it is bowl shaped, and she has not learned yet. Keep up the good work. It is great that you get stray cats.

Sounds like your kitty is a real good candidate to potty train in a toilet!! You can find out this info online or utube or at a pet store. Also, The very best answers I ever received, were from a cat Dr. There are many specific cat vets & hospitals in every city.I went once, when I had some unweaned, untrained, baby kitties & the cat vet had every right answer to my problems & questions & I have never gone to a "regular" vet since. Their fees are equivalant to other vets, but their knowledge, over the top, in comparison. Good luck!!

you have an extremely clean kitten there! could you quite her discover corners on your place and do it. you may desire to aim changing her clutter granules she could not in trouble-free terms like the scent of the only you're applying. My cat is going interior the tub if she won't be able to get out and that i compliment her for it. does not you quite her pass interior the tub than have a stinky clutter tray plenty greater handy to freshen up I ought to think of in basic terms %. it up with a tissue and run the faucet and spray slightly purifier. you mustn't shout at her she is in basic terms attempting to be clean and it won't clean up the concern.

Hi
Just make sure the lid of the toilet is kept down, I've heard of cat's drowning this way, if the cat can get in the bath, it may try to get into the toilet.

You might try leaving water in the bottom of the tub. I had to deal with a similar problem with a couple of my kitties.

putting her scent like you are by placing her turds in the litterbox should be good. you may just keep the bathroom door closed since that removes that option. she should hopefully start using it, or if you can catch her in the act and stick her in the litterbox immediately when you see her going to the bathroom.

put the kitten face in the litter. the next time it does it in the tub put it's face in the #2 and she won't do it again.
