Because copper is such a good conductor of electricity, copper is mostly used in electrical generators and motors, for electrical wiring, and in electronic goods, such as radio and TV sets. Copper also conducts heat well, so it is used in motor vehicle radiators, air-conditioners and home heating systems.

Because copper does not corrode easily, it is used a lot for water pipes. Also, its malleability means that copper pipes can be bent to go round corners easily, without breaking. Copper sulphate is used as a fungicide to stop plant roots from blocking drains and sewerage systems.

The largest use of copper is for electrical wiring and conductors. It is also alloyed with iron and other metals to make brass and bronze.
Copper is a very good conductor of heat so it is also use in the manufacture of cook ware.
Copper pipe is common. and probably number two on the list.

copper is used for many things. Copper is mainly used for electral wiring because it is the best economical choice for conducting electricity. Very little resistant for electrons. if you use a multi meter compare the resistant to that and steel you'll see a difference. But gold can conduct more electricity than copper but hey can we afford to put gold wire in power lines?

Wow its not like I have seen this one before. Well we use Copper for everything from wires to pipes for plumbing, your computer has copper it it for the coil. See copper is a great conductor as well as easy to manipulate for allot of things that we use daily. Even your car/truck/SUV has copper in them. Its all around you its even in your pocket. yes the Penny is copper as well (part of it is) with copper prices so high people all over are stealing it and that is sad cause it just makes things that much harder to get the price back down like it used to be.

It is used extensively, in products such as:

* Piping, including, but not limited to, domestic water supply

* Electronics: (most important application)
o Copper wire.
o Electromagnets.
o Printed circuit boards.
o Electrical machines, especially electromagnetic motors, generators and transformers.

Structural Engineering:

* Statuary: The Statue of Liberty, for example, contains 179,220 pounds (81.3 tonnes) of copper.

Household Products:

Biomedical applications, Chemical applications and other like in music instruments etc.

Contrary to what has been suggested above, the copper penny is not one of the primary uses for copper. It is actually about 97.5% zinc and has been so since 1982.
