My neighbors two dogs are driving me crazy with their constant barking. Won't they get a sore throat if they contiue to bark? The neighbor is out of town and locked his dogs in the house. I normally don't here the dogs bark at all and never like this, they must miss him or something. Since he is gone for the day I was hoping the usually quiet dogs would get a hoarse and just go to sleep until their daddy gets home. Any chance?

Thanks for your answers. I know it sounded like a silly question but I was thinking that a person would go sore if he yelled & screamed for hours and would get tired and shut up. The dogs daddy did finally come home and now the neighborhood is at peace again. I don't hear a peep from his home.

well, i work for a vet, and one dog who boards there regularly barks so much when he's boarding that he always ends up losing his voice. THe owners say it happens at home sometimes too.

Can Dogs Get Sore Throats

Unfortunately, if a dog gets a sore throat from barking, it would take a very long time.

I can sympathize: My neighbor used to have a dog who would bark for hours on end at times, and would sometimes start at 3 or so in the morning. He finally got rid of it, though I'm not sure if it's because the Landlord had a word with him or because he actually got tired of being awakened too.

Go here for the best dog training couse http://dog-training.gelaf.info

Since it is obvious that you do not have a clue about obedience training, your services should be for free. You cannot train even an adult dog for 8 hours a day. About the most that can be done at any one time is 10 - 20 minutes and that is with an adult dog and not a puppy. The attention span on this baby is extremely short and training session should be no more than 10 minutes and twice a day. Additionally, there isn't going to be much learned if you will only be training for 5 days. Obedience training is cumulative and is done over a much longer period of at least several weeks to several months.
What you can charge is determined by your experience, reputation, and accomplishments and in a case like this, should also include guaranteed expectations. Just working with dogs over several years, is not the experience that is necessary to be a dog trainer. There are too many people who are putting that title to their name and fleecing the public. Don't be one of them.

EVERY SINGLE DAY, my neighbors poor dog would be put out at 5 pm when they got home from work. The poor thing would bark, non-stop, until 8 pm when they let her in. I always wanted them to find that dog a better home, where it would get SOME human interaction, but I knew from their history that they would just run out and get a different dog. Anyway, that dog NEVER got a sore throat.

first of all, I hope he has someone coming and checking on the dogs to let t hem out for potty and stuff like that.

I know what you are going through, dogs can bark and bark and bark, and they just don't get soar throats.

It is just like us speaking to someone.

Perhaps you could try yelling quiet or make a loud noise to startle them so mabe they'd be quiet?
I'd have a word with our neighbour when he gets home.

Sorry
good luck
