(My problem: They play boom boxes that shake my windows.)

Dear "Bib" - I consider the people you described as needing to be quaratined, like locked up for awhile. -

2007-07-07 07:42:19 · update #2

The police just tell them to turn it down. But That base when it appears turned down, it still vibrates. - You can't hear the music, just the boom, boom, boom. When the police leave, they turn it right back up. --

fruit cake on their door step every week is ahead in the suggestions so far. & yes I am working on a sound barrier wall.

-- these other ideas are tempting. But wow! - I was just as bad when I was a teenager.

James - is that like a way to cancel out the sound wave?

Oh, so sorry for you Uncle Wayne. I've been there. Had some nasty neighbors before. That's a tough one. Can you move? We just turned the other cheek until we moved. Or can you put up a nice high fence? God never said it would be easy to love. It's the hardest thing we'll ever do.

They're not getting it. You can love someone and still be upset at them. Let your neighbor know how upset you are with them. A kind word turns away wrath, but it's O.K. to get really angry with them if they aren't getting it. Go beat on their walls if they won't stop, and raise your voice if they're not paying attention. Let them know that there music is vibrating your windows and that it's driving you nuts. If all else fails, go to their service entry panel (the breaker box) if it's outdoors and start tripping their breakers till the music quits. Complain to their landlord (or parents or whoever) and keep calling the cops. Also, recruit the help of your neighbors on this one. If the kids keep hearing it from multiple sources, then thy are more likely to "get it". This is a common problem with kids when they first get there own place, they just don't understand how to interact with their neighbors yet. It's something that they have to learn. Unfortunately it's you that is going to have to teach them.

Good luck

Your in luck! For starters you have the right mind set by desiring to love the whole world, and even more so your neighbor. Very often in this situations so long as you are dealing with a semi decent person as apposed to someone who's life goal to get the world to hate him, all you need to do is give. By doing things for your neighbor although you might not want to will strengthen the friendship. Good Luck.

Funny you should ask. I've always prided myself with being able to at least like most people I meet. I have a neighbor that I've tried to be friendly to-he thought I was coming on to him and brought me some beer-lol.He starts using his power saw every morning at 7 ayem and continues all day until he starts drinking. Then he plays music over his speakers that makes dogs howl. I've called the police and the county ordinance people. Disturbing the peace is against the law. They may not like you-but do you really want to be friends with inconsiderate peeps?

Try talking to your neighbor first (I know you probably already have) Let him know that you know he enjoys his music but it's a bit loud and you would appreciate him turning it down a bit so it doesn't rattle the windows.. Most neighbors will happily do the neighborly thing and turn it down.. Be sure to say thanks and that you appreciate it should he choose to turn it down... Everyone likes to be thanked..

If he doesn't turn it down, look up you local noise laws.. If your neighbor is breaking the noise laws report him...

If there is no noise laws that apply and can protect you, fight fire with fire.. Choose a genre of music completely different from his and play it loud enough for his windows to rattle.. Sometimes a little taste of their own medicine jolts people into realizing what they are doing isn't very neighborly.... Remember if he begins to turn his down follow suit until the volume of his is low enough that you can turn yours off..

Remember a vendetta is a lot of work and hassle you don't want to get into one if you can avoid it..

It is easier to love the whole world than love our neighbor. We are face to face with our neighbors and have to see both their wondrous gifts and what we consider to be their failings. When we look out onto the world we can imagine it as a whole and convince ourselves that dispite the chaos there is over all good and beauty in the world.

Up close and personal is always the test of our ability to love each other unconditionally.

yeah it actually is u knw. cuz, whenever u get too close to something, it dusn't seem as beautiful as it does from far away. take moon for example. do u really think it's beautiful when u look at it's close-ups?i don't! anyways, about your problem, just go and talk to them. if that does not help, sendthem a thank you card saying 'thank u forbeing a very thoughtful neighbour' or send them flowers, bake cookies, or maybe do stuff for them...they'll ultimately either freak out and leave the neighbourhood or stop disturbing you.

in no way ever do the neighbor,it is whilst a torrid affair will become a horrid affair....... whilst she seems to be your new deadly allure,as quickly as you tell her to extreme tail it on down the line! somewhat party which incorporate your spouse and a woman stranger sounds lots greater beautiful now doens't it?(and you will nonetheless have your equipment in the morning!)

MY neighbors are very friendly and nice to me(the ones that I have met)..They would lay their lives down for me,including throwing themselves in front of my car, when I am trying to escape...MAN!!...can they yak...

Seriously,I would do anything for them...But it is difficult for me to talk on and on...so I just listen, untill my ears start bleeding and then they unchain me.

EDIT: After thought...John said, how can we say that we love God whom we have not seen, yet not love our brother, whom we have seen?(in the flesh). It is the same principle here,I believe..It is easy to support foreign missions, with prayers and monetary offerings, but often times,I believe that God reveals our heart,by placing the mission field on our doorstep.

In this example given, where the neighbor is being obviously insensitive to others in the neighborhood...if they will not respond to a request to respect your wishes..I personally would pray and seek God's wisdom, rather than start a battle by involving authorities and envoking bitter feelings. I would simply pray,pray,pray....

"As much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men" (Romans 12:18, NKJV) ...

I read if men don't forgive to other men, both men are separated from God, their souls don't receive the Light of God.
One must begin to say 'I am sorry" just say and open the way for God can work in his life.
When men judge other men, he place his rule in the place of the rule of God, God is take away.
Must be believer in God, God can anything, is place for all things and all men. ( Ex.If exists space for 4 men at moment, if is coming The 5th men, God can do a biggest place for all 5)
Must think many sins have God forgive to me, and I can't forgive to other men.............
To love means to give peace to other men, don't hate him, add if ask for that,
