I have a Maine Coon, and he is one of the most affectionate cats I've ever lived with! If he had his way, I think he'd want me to hold him all the time! He just recently turned 7, and he's been this way since I met him. That was why I fell in love with him, he was being so affectionate. No matter how bad my day has been, he always snuggles me till I cheer up!

We had a Domestic Long Hair who could have passed as a Maine Coon. He wasn't a cuddle bug at all but rather standoffish. Over the years, I've noticed that male short haired cats seem to be more interested in cuddling. I had two who would sneak under the covers of the bed to sleep with me and stay just as close as possible during the day. I called them my "velcro kitties".

I was blessed with the companionship of a Maine Coon/Siamese mix for over 14 years. He looked like a full Maine Coon but I knew both his parents & his mom was Siamese. He was definately a cuddle bug, a huge, polydactyl lap kitty. Smart, too. I don't think I need to tell you how special these guys are.

My previous coon cat, Albert was a major cuddle bug, but only in the bedroom - if I stretched out on the bed to read, I had an 18 pound pal stretched out on my chest - but if I was sitting in the family room or living room - he was not as friendly.

Only when I'm sleeping. She always wants to lay with me then. Otherwise she just wants to be near but not touched.

It depends.. he only wants loving on his own accord... if you try to pet him otherwise he usually runs.. He's very sweet though.
