Nah. The Mayans/Aztecs had their own successful civilization. Despite the human sacrifice, I think I saw on a show about them, that their population was in the millions at their 'hey-day'. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans all seemed to do pretty well w/o a belief in YHWH.

Religion does not necessarily keep the weak minded in check. The law does.

I actually think the more civil population is those with religion.

It's when religious teachings become misconstrued, or someone like Osama Bin Laden, or Charles Manson comes along that religion becomes warped, and uncivil.

I don't think they are weak-minded. They just know something we don't.

I also think we'd be a little less civilized and more inclined to genocide/homicide/basic massacre if we didn't have a tiny, moralistic voice saying, "stop that you moron! God!"

But, there is such thing as too much religion, esp. the fanatics.

There is a difference in religion and the truth that Jesus taught. If we would all follow Jesus and not the business of religions the world would be a better place yes.

Actually, I was thinking it was weak-minded NOT to have a faith...belief in a religion. So I guess I can't answer your question.

I guess, in your world, I'm one of the "weak minded". Congratulations on being strong minded. I was not forced to believe in anything. I've beieved in God for as long as I can remember. If that makes me weak minded in your mind-so be it. I guess it justifies your lack of faith. I'll say a prayer for you. I promise it wont hurt.

..and in this time, the Lord spoke to me once again and said,"The world shall always remain civilized but shall also remain frustrated." Thus saith the Lord.

the only way the world is going to become more civilized, is to get rid of the hate in the world.
