If you have received God's free gift of Salvation then you have met all of the requirements for entry into Heaven... Water Baptism is a public demonstration of your commitment, but, it is not a requirement for Salvation....It is however, a good thing to do.

We believe that baptism with water -- by immersion, pouring, or sprinkling -- in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, cleanses us from original sin and personal sin and initiates us into the life of the Church. It is more than merely symbolic; it's more than an expression of belief of the one being baptized , it is a Sacrament, both a sign and medium of sanctifying grace. Baptism does something; it remits sins.
Like all Sacraments (the other 6 being Eucharist, Confession, Confirmation, Holy Orders, Matrimony, and Unction), Baptism is not a work of man; it is a work of Christ, an act of His grace
It is through Baptism that we are "born again" (or "born from above") of "water and of the Spirit" (John 3:3-5). Read the entire chapter of John 3 which speaks of being "born again" and please note that it is all about Baptism. Despite what some Protestants believe, being "born again" doesn't mean "having an emotional high" or "making a decision for Christ," though these are fine and good, the latter being necessary after the age of reason; being "born again" very clearly refers to Baptism of water and of the Spirit. This regeneration of water and Spirit is necessary to enter the Kingdom of God:
Baptism leaves an indelible mark on the soul, so one may be baptized only once.

You can become born again, accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, right in your own living room. If you were to die before getting baptised in water, God would still call you home to heaven. However, this does not give us license not to get baptised. Jesus Christ himself was baptised, and the disciples baptised others. We should therefore follow the example that our Lord set and get baptised also.

Hello,
Baptism is necessary and you are born again after accepting Jesus as your savoir but according to the vast majority of Christian denominations you also must do a lot more than just that. Being baptized and reborn is not a licence to sin with immumity and impunity; in short, continue trying to live a good life and do on to others as Jesus commanded.

Given the actuality that Nicodemus, who became a discovered guy, had concern understanding the belief, i'd suspect that the uncomplicated guy had a a lot extra beneficial subject. remember additionally that Jesus preached an intensive theory. All will agree that the belief is radical now interior the twenty-first century, that enables you to think of the way it became won interior the 1st and 2d centuries. i'd additionally think of that the right information on the topic of this coaching, would be extra beneficial researched with those like Polycarp, a disciple of John, who discovered the spoken custom, which may well be much extra precise as they won it straight away from the Apostle. it would be worth to observe that the message, collectively as no longer completely understood, became nevertheless won properly as evidenced with the help of the artwork of John the Baptist. it form of feels that collectively as the "mechanics" became no longer properly understood, the will of the promise became, and nevertheless is. there are circumstances whilst "childlike faith" gets the activity accomplished, even now. Peace and be properly.

Born again yes, as in John 14 Jesus says "I am the way and the truth and the life - no one comes to the father except through me".
Baptised, no. As Paul says in Romans baptism is a sign of a covenant with Christ. Yet before you show the sign of your covenant you must first be saved BY FAITH. Also it Ephesians 2 it says "by faith you are saved, not by works". Baptism does not get you to heaven because if so it would be by human works and faith. This is similar to the Old Testatment when the sons of Jacob were first sons through birth, then circumsized as a SIGN of their heritage.

I beleive that scripture specifically says to be baptized, but I know that the thief next to Jesus was not likely to have been baptized and yet Jesus clearly promised to take him to paradise.
That being said, I would not miss out on anything that is so highly recommended by the Word. See Mark 16

NO. Baptism is a symbol of our acceptance of Christ. It represents that we are taking part in his death and resurrection in a symbolic way. BUT it does NOT save us. Think about it: the theif on the cross next to Jesus was told that he would be with Christ that very day (after he died) because he expressed faith in who Christ was. He did not come off his cross, be baptised, then nailed back in place. He simply BELIEVED. There are tons of verses in the NT that are emphatic that belief is all that is necessary to salvation.

Born again is required. Baptism is just symbolic, and following the example of Jesus. It shows the death burial and Resurrection of Jesus.
