Brighton seems to be a bit pricey - any other ideas of somewhere to live or where to avoid? I've been looking at Chichester, Southampton, Haywards Heath....??? looking at a largish town with amenities eg cinema, sports centre, parks etc bit of everything. Any suggestions?

i've lived in chichester all my life its perfect i own a beach hut in witterings which is only 10 minute drive away and is an amazing beach where windsurfing is the big sport but theres the yacht club you can join where you can sail. chichester has a really good cinema and places to eat a sports center called west gate but i go to this little club in barnham which has evrything i need swimming pool tennis courts squash courts gym nice poeple.

its also not a long drive away from brighton but because there is a train station you can just jump on the train and get to shops else where and partys. also the shops are up and coming they just knocked down a factory on west street are placing a h&m. Theres also House of Fraiser and loads more. also there are the south downs if you like walking and loads of place to see and near chi is a roman village depends if your into this tpye of stuff though.

chichester is amazing and i don't want to move ever its amazing oh and also there is a theatre which Patrick Stewart is proforming in at the moment doing shakespeares Macbeth and Twelth Night. Macbeth is amazing!!!! hope this is good advise please move down here lots of nice people!

Avoid Southampton and Portsmouth, i live in the latter not through choice, and am trying to get out with little success.
It is like a bloody black hole here not even light can escape.

I should avoid largish towns but go for somewhere in easy reach of one of them. Try the Eastbourne area but avoid Hastings - the crime rate there is very high.

Hi. Well I live on the southcoast in a city called Portsmouth
We have all the things you are looking for, and a lovely seafront.Better than most resorts becase there is a lot of shipping movements. We are near the Isle of Wight and to the north of the city there is beautiful countryside. Look it up on your P.C. Hope this has helped. Good luck . Dave
