I like how Ford is now going up with their designs and, especially, their quality. I really like the new design that doesn't look boring and average like the past ones did. I am really astonished by the interior which looks like a Honda or Nissan. The exterior looks like it could be a Honda or Nissan too. It is good to hear they are now making a coupe version to keep up with the Civic. To add in some sad things, I have tried to convince my mom to buy an 08 Ford Escape hybrid because we are trying to buy a new SUV with good gas mileage and reliability, but my mom has no respect for Ford's, even though I told her that about Ford's quality and they have earned the most awards than any manufacturer in the world. Now she's thinking about buying another Japanese vehicle. Although, she is interested in the Mazda CX-7 which Ford owns Mazda.

I LOVE the '08 Focus !!! I can't wait 'till they are available !
I had the opportunity to sit in one at the Chicago Auto Show in Feb. '07,
The public was not allowed to sit in them but I got to. I got a full presentation 'demo' by a couple of the Ford presenters.
The new interior is awesome. I especially liked the interior ambient lighting. and the mid-dash information center. (not to mention the award winning Ford/Microsoft "Sync" )
The 'retro' look 'front fender exits' (just like on the '08 Taurus) not only give it a classy look but are functional I(!) & very attractive!
This is a very refined Focus & I can't wait to drive one !
I just got my first drive in the '08 Taurus (a week ago)& was just as impressed!
btw...if your Mom is 'open' to Mazdas maybe she would consider the Hybrid Tribute.

I think its a decent design. Ford has been coming out with some nice looking vehicles lately and there are more on the way. To bad people aren't willing to give them a try. Your right about Ford's quality, its world class, another thing a lot of people aren willing to accept and acknowledge. I would take a new Focus over a Honda, Nissan and Toyota any day. I find most of their cars to be very unattractive, especially Toyota. All of theirs are downright ugly.
