Do you want to risk it? What if scientists are right about global warming and you are wrong in thinking Jesus is coming or that you have no responsibility. Is it worth the risk? Is it difficult to turn out your lights, walk instead of drive, recycle etc. etc. to help curb the growing environmental crisis........what's it worth to you, this earth?

I'd still go with Pascal for two reasons: demons have done little, if anything, to make this world a better place; and second, no demon ever had a computer program named after him (PASCAL)--okay, okay, bad premise. Still, I choose the Pascal's wager.

That's one thing I have against some - note the "some" - Christians. They are so sure they're going to live eternally that they don't give a rat's *** about the real world. This world wasn't made for us. And I don't think we should be destroying it like we are... well, they say evolution does not imply progress. I don't think there was much progress in our evolution from primitive primates in the sense that we are destroying our environment, threatening our survival.

Stop thinking this is only about global warming; that's not even the biggest threat that we may (or may not) have caused.

1. Scientists are right about global warming
2. But they can't prove how humans effect it, so they don't know how to stop it
3. I don't believe in Jesus, not as a supernatural being, anyway
4. I am responsible for my own actions and life. I can recycle, and do. I can't do anything about global warming, so I just have to accept that nature works the way it should. I am part of nature, after all.

I am a Christian, but Pascal's wager is a bogus argument for Christianity. It equates "truth" to a gamble. What if we did this with every decision in life? For instance, should I assume my friend wants to kill me because another friend told me he does, since it is the safer bet? Does that mean I should act on that gamble and just kill him?

The Bible instructs us to take care of creation, and since the Bible is my highest authority it allows me to know both that Jesus is coming and I need to take care of the Earth.

Scientists know that the earth has gone through warming and cooling phases over the centuries. What if an ice age is coming? By adding greenhouse gasses to the environment maybe we are keeping the earth warm and postponing or lessening the coming ice age? Hmmmmmmm?

Bravo!

I sure as hell wouldn't want to risk it. We need to make the world a better place and protect the environment for future generations.

It's certainly worth taking a bus on the hottest day of the summer. I'll do just about anything to have snow again in winter.

Weather changes are inevitable. The weather is not static, it’s dynamic. Weather is caused mostly by the sun which is quite dynamic in nature and well beyond our ability to control. Turning off your lights is irrelevant to everything.

Besides the “elite” like Al Gore consume much more energy and recourses than the rest of us.

These people should curb their consumption before they critique mine.

Why do you assume that because someone is Christian they do not care about the environment? Christians have a deep respect for everything that God has created, his universe and all the creatures in it.
