I'm a 20yr old male, used to play rugby but got injured, trying to get fit again...and I'm running a 100m sprint on Thursday against some friends who are not the most sporty, Just wondering is that an alright time?

Not that great to be honest, but if their not that sporty you might get a win.

Believe it or not, that is not a bad time. The fact that the girl who wins the championship runs 13-something doesn't make it bad. It's not a impressive time, but it can't be called bad. If every 12 year old girl got a time for that and we averaged it, we'd be looking at 18 or 19. 14 should be fast enough to beat average people, but it's not worth much in competition. You have a good bet at beating your friends, but you'd probably get crushed in a track meet. That said, your friends are "not the most sporty" and people who compete are as good as it gets. Also, you were probably not under pressure when you got your time. You can usually run a 100 half a second or more faster if you are heavily pressured to win and are excited about the race. Saying that running 14 is bad because somebody somewhere ran 11.6 is like saying that you can't eat a hotdog on your own because somebody somewhere at 40.
