You gotta love Australia Zoo. It's a great place coz it's not only a Zoo but it's a Wildlife Conservation. Terri and Bindy have done a great job in preserving Steve's legacy and continuing his dream... which is something that i hope all Aussies will strive to continue too.

No.....many zoos beat it. It is a GREAT zoo, no doubt about it but you can have many more great...better experiances at other zoos for one, Sydney Taronga Zoo. Where else in the world can you catch a ferry to a zoo then go up a chairlift to get to the top of the zoo???

Thats just one zoo and one other one is Dubbo's Western Plains Zoo where it is the only zoo where it is the total african experiance..so much that some days are as hot as Africa!!

I am sure that there are even better zoos in the world but Australia Zoo does not get my pick as Australia's best zoo but I am still a great fan of it as I have to be...i am a local!!!

C'mon folks ...I know we're all getting sentimental here & for all of his quirky ways Steve Irwin did a great job with his zoo but let's get real here .

As far as the greatest zoos in the world this one doesn't come into the top 20 or 30 !

Even Taronga Park in Sydney would beat it hands down as far as quality & quantity of exhibits not to mention it's harbourside position . Lets face it , until Steve rose to prominance in recent years it wasn't even half a zoo ...all it had was reptiles & a few native animals !

Credit where credit is due , Steve did a lot to raise the awareness of our flaura & fauna but let's not show our ignorance by building this up into something it aint !

It is not even the best in Australia. Taronga Park in Sydney and the Melbourne Zoo have better and more serious collections. The Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo is a park-type zoo that is part of the Taronga collection and breeding program. The Adelaide Zoo has a good collection as well. The Australia zoo is a money making enterprise for the Irwin company that will cost you a fortune to visit.

Difficult to say accurately unless you have been to everyone of them in the world.
I have been to Australia zoo and it was, in my opinion, the nicest, most spacious and clean zoo I have ever visited! And you could tell the animals and staff are all happy and content too.
The Irwin's have done a fantastic job! I truly miss Steve Irwin.

I think it's the greatest in Australia. !!!

Not everyone has gone to all the zoo's around the world so we can not compare. I've heard the San Diego zoo is great also.
