It is one of my very favorite, because it reminds me of the safety I have abiding in God, how much He loves me and His great power.

The Psalms are ofen very difficult to understand and I don't understand this one too well. Some of it is uplifting but verse 12 often gets a lot of interest because it is the verse used by Satan when arguing with Jesus in the wilderness.

I LOVE Psalm 91, particularly verses 10-16......I found them very comforting when my son was in the hospital a few years ago. I read that to him everyday.
We both benefited from the word of God.

I haven't really read all the Scriptures of the bible but when you asked this question, I tried to do a research on this particular chapter. I really find it comforting that we are protected by God's love. That if we believe in Him and trust in Him, He will serve as our refuge, a haven from all that is evil and wrong and from our own sufferings. And by doing His work, we shall be greatly rewarded. Thank you for reminding me of Psalm 91.

I do not see many answers on the how many part here.
I would say: more than an infinite number. Hope that helps.
And why? It is one of the more poetic psalms, I admit that. But given the fact that in most church services I attend, it is used again and again, the charts might be a bit rigged.
Have a nice day.

I find comfort in the psalms. psalms 91 show us that we have a great comforter in God it's tell us never fear, not to worry because our great redeemer cares for us. God has so much love for was and we for him, we are his children and he is our heavenly father. Nothing will ever hurt us, Satan will try, but God encircles us with his love. God Bless.

Yes, and very appropriate for our times. With issues such as potential bird flu, WMD and terrorism.
I'm currently keen on Psalm 103.
The more one meditates on them, the more they have a good effect, building one's trust in God.

Good question my sis!
It is nice to know the true child of God has angels around them.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. - Psalm 91:11

Yes. Did you know in Nigeria, they use it for baby dedications and substitute the name of the baby in that Psalm? My dad also did the same thing when he did (as an ordained minister) my nephew's baby dedication.

These verses let us know that God will never forsake us, will provide for us all we need, and protect us form all harm. For this reason those who believe in Christ should never worry or be concerned about how they are going to deal with any situation. God provides all we need in every situation.

which verse there are quite a few
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
