For me it sure does! Summers are brighter, more fruity reds and lighter, less ponderous whites. For example, I drink more merlot, less expensive california cabs, some aussie blends of cab and shiraz, a nice sangiovese, or aglianico. Whites like moscato di Asti with the light frizzante of carbon dioxide and low alcohol, gewurztraminer, or riesling. OH and I have really been getting into Vouvrays (chenin blanc grape) Italian Gavi (great green apple aroma!) and viogniers that change from pineapple aroma toward peach/apricot as they warm up.
Colder weather calls for bigger wines like pricier cabs and Bordeaux. Also port and late harvest wines. Our friends in Canada are making some incredible ice wines, including a sparkling vidal ice wine! Niagara Peninsula is great!

I don't base it on the Season CONSCIOUSLY, but now that you mention it, I do tend to drink more white wines in the Summer, and more red wines in the Winter - hmmm. If I'm having wine with a meal though, I go by the old standard of white wine with poultry, seafood or pork, and red wine with beef and Italian "red sauce" pasta (now they say red wine goes with pork also). How average huh?!? LOL!! (It's just what I was taught many years ago in Bartending School and I guess it stuck with me!) Take care!!

I always drink red wine. No matter what the season is.

Not me. It's basically champagne for me. If I want a wine, it's champagne regardless of season.

No not at all. The cherry, vanilla, blackberry with hints of oak. Mostly California Cabernet or Syrah.
