i built a pc for the first time and installed windows vista trial version which i now want to remove completely and install either xp or linux since it was only a 30 day trial.
how do i go about this? is there an add/remove program which i can use so it completely delates all vista entries and leaves my hard drive blank so when i turn on my computer i get the cmos screen like before the vista install?

any help much appreciated thanks

I recommend killdisk to wipe that drive clean, it's a free disk utility:

Back up all personal data from your PC (copy to CD / DVD / external hard drive) and do a Windows XP "Clean Install" (for instructions go to: (www.theeldergeek.com).

Note: You must use your Recovery disks, if included with your PC, to avoid driver problems, not a store-bought XP. The Recovery disks may be ON the hard drive, so Read The Friendly Manual FIRST.

Why don't you crack it? Google PARADOX VISTA CRACK. It fools Windows Vista into thinking that your PC has been built by a company such as Dell so doesn't need activating.
