well i dont know, but i had one removed off my breast. It was cut off and you can barely see where it was removed from. It was a bit red at first and then it healed. The doctor took great care when stitching me up to ensure the scar would be hardly seen.I would say the mole looked worse and if it on your face then you must be quite aware of it. A scar is nothing, i mean people get them all the time. I have a scar on my chin from where i ran into a lamp post when i was young. My boyfriend thinks the scar is cute. Its totally up to you, how bad does the mole make you feel?
okay just looked at some keloid scars and that is different from the scar i have. i would ask to be refered to a plastic surgeon before making my choice. good luck

If you are black there is a higher risk of a keliod scar than in a white person. I have had a mole removed but I'm white and after about 6 months I couldn't even tell where the mark it. A keliod scar is a raised scar that sometimes looks like a bubble. There has to be a way for you to get it removed. If this doctor is telling you no, that means anyone who is prone to keliods should never get any plastic surgery, and you know that plastic surgeons would never refuse money. To tell you the truth I would recommend going to a plastic surgeon. He/she will give you the best advise. I'm sure they can do it. Lots of people get them cut off and I know several black people who have had surgery on their face and didn't get a keliod scar because it was done right. Pay the extra money and go to a plastic surgeon. By the way, my moles were cut off and two or three stitches were put in. I also kept neosporine on it to keep it soft. Also you can leave the stitches in a few days longer to help prevent the stretching of the new skin. But they do get itchy after a while.

I've had 2 moles removed, The 1st was on my chest area and it was frozen and sliced off - this left no scar at all just a tiny mark which was much less noticable than the mole its self
Last year I had one on my leg removed and it was cut and then stitched... and the scar for that is horrible! It looks like a earwig crawling up my calf!
Both were totally painless but the one on my leg which was cut out still hasnt faded (the scar)
Im sure if its for the face it will less noticable though as the doctor will take far more care in making sure its far neater than my poor leg . . . . and a scar will fade over time - I hate moles and was so conscious that I now prefer the scar
Hope this helps and it is totally painless I promise

I havent had a mole removed from my face before but I have had three taken off elsewhere - the last two I had tiny circular bits cut out off for biopsy, it removed most of the mole and has left a little scar that is hardly noticeable. The first I had removed completely and three stitches - It left a horrible keloid scar which is bigger than my BCG scar!
If you are having a mole removed from your face you should really be refered to a plastic surgeon who can do it as skilfully as possible with little risk of scarring. Dont let your doctor remove it - Keloid scars are very unsightly and you dont want one on your face!!

I've had a lot removed but not from my face. I do have scars but they fade over time. I have a very fair complexion so my scars are more visible. My daugher had a very large flat mole removed from her face. She does have a scar but it's not really noticable. If you look for it you can see it. It's by her ear & is about 2 inches in length. It was a very large mole. But I had a plastic surgeon remove it. He cut it & stitched it, but there is no keloid. I don't know much about keloids. Good luck 2D

I had a rather large mole removed from my face years ago by cutting. It did not develop a keloid scar. I am SO glad I had it removed. I wish I had done it years earlier because I hated that mole and the removal was so quick and easy I couldn't believe I had waited.

I had a mole removed from my upper neck years ago, and will have more removed, some on my face, soon. I have no scar at all. This was sliced off in the Doctors office. There are a lot of options for you, see a Dermatologist for moles on your face, as they have a much better "no scar" outcome, and they do this procedure everyday.. GOOD LUCK !

I had one removed, I have a small one on my chin but decided to leave it as getting them removed does leave a scar, the scar can be small or larger than the actual mole itself depending on how good the doctor is or how he removes it.
He used a scalpel on mine the scar ended up being bigger then the mole was & when it healed it looked more like it had been melted not cut off it is a mess & glad it is somewere you cant see it.
The inject you in the mole or just around it.
