I am baking a pie using a Mrs. Smith's frozen crust. The recipe calls for the whole pie to be baked for 45 minutes at 300 degrees. I don't know whether I should defrost the crust first, or bake it from frozen. Thanks for any info!

Unfortunately, I can't find any directions on the package.

bake it frozen. if you thaw it, the crust will burn easier. i think the package actually tells you not to defrost. look more closely to see.

There should be directions on the Mrs. Smith box for its use. In the event that you have disposed of this, search the web. I bet there is a Mrs. Smith's web site or Pillsbury as they also make a frozen pie crust as well. However, I don't make pies so I don't know the actual answer.

No. Just use it in the frozen form. Which by the way, will defrost very quickly anyway due to it's ingredients and the fact that it's very thin.

What does it say on the packaging? But I think you don't need to defrost it, just stick it in the oven when you're ready to bake that pie.

It would be easier to put the crust on the pie if it is thawed.
