Check with your personal insurance. Mine does. I have to pay a co-pay. Each insurance provider may have different provisions. Call them before you go. You can also ask the office you plan to go to if they accept your insurance.

absolutely. it just all depends on the type of insurance have but no matter insurance does help. Normally without insurance the visit alone can cost anywhere from $60 and up. Whereas if you have insurance all you have to pay is your co-pay which is generally ranging from $10-$30 for a visit. Insurance also cuts the cost of perscriptions and ER visits among other things. Shop around online and see what premiums suit your budgets and lifestyle the best. I have Humana and in my opinion, thats as good as it gets.

To the other answer .. I didnt know 'clearing up pimples' was not for your health. That is the ONLY reason I went to the Dermatologist and I didnt pay anything. My insurance covered it all. Insurance also pays for checkups like .. to look for abnormal markings that could mean skin cancer (my mom has this done every 6 months cause she had a dark mark on her skin that was cancerous)

Insurance wont cover anything cosmetic. Which like someone else said; peels, microdermabrasion and things like that. I dont know if Lightening Creams are like that though.

But it all depends on your insurance. 85% of Insurance companies will help pay for your Acne Meds. and you'll only have to pay a little.

Yes, my insurance company paid the entire bill but it depends on your problem and how the medical office (your doctor) codes it.

What is your co-payment, you would owe for that.
Also, if your insurance has a minimum requirement deductible that you must meet, like you have to pay out x amount before any payments by them start kicking in. (Some insurances have this.)

If the visit is absolutely necessary for your health then yes, the insurance will pay for your visit. OR if after you have visited and the doctor REQUIRES you to be on some type of medicine, then yes the insurance should pay.
but
If the visit is unnessasary for your health and you just want to go to clean up some pimples, then no the insurance will not pay for it because the visit deals with appearance, not your physical well being

depends on the type of services..because alot of times things like that will fall in to cosmetic enhancement catagories..like I deal with acne off and on but when i went to have peels and stuff done that will help with the problem they're aren't covered because its considered cosmetic...just inquire with your insurance company

Yes, it does. Although, most insurance companies insist on a referral from your regular doctor.

Depends on your insurance plan. Call them to see if they cover any or all of your visit.

Of course, as long as the job done does not fall under the category of being "cosmetic."

I don't think so.
Is is a medical reason, or just because you want to?
