what is the meaning of mbak? or is it embak? does it means miss or something?

yes..mbak can means miss..usually when u call a female housekeeper..but in javanese language,mbak means older sister...in general,mbak means miss..

Mbok is mother in Indonesian. It is also used, as is Biik, which translates as aunt, to address older female household help or a market vendor

The formal writing is Embak. But many Indonesian use mbak, too. Coz they sounds the same. You are correct. I means Miss... People here mostly use it to call waitress or the female housekeeper... If you wanna call someone out but doesn't know her name, saying Mbak is okay.

In indo, miss is 'Merindukan'

Mak means 'the mother'

I've never heard of mbak or embak.
