Why is it when people who were living straight married lives "become gay" its a turning to their real sexual selves, but when a practicing homosexual 'goes straight" its just his kidding himself(or herself)?

So...what is he going to become? That's my question. A heterosexual? I don't get it. Is he changing himself or his lifestyle? Because those are not the same thing. My question for the day: Is it good to suffer and be righteous or to be happy and be unrighteous? I don't get christians. Are they saying these things to make themselves feel better, like saying: "I don't have that problem, so I'm righteous." If not, then is he trying to become accepted by society and christians, or does he really think he should change? He is going to go through an EXTREMELY PAINFUL change, and not only because everyone expects him to, but also because it will literally tear him into pieces from the inside. But, then, if his homosexuality is based on pure lust, then it might be easier. It's when the homosexuality has an aspect of homoemotionality, that it is going to be really hard. I'm going to be a psychologist and I hope that this change is not going to cause him to develop psychological complications, such as chronic depression, which many christians think are okay as long as the person is righteous. He needs to fix his emotional self before he fixes his moral self, because just fixing his moral self is probably not going to make him happy.

God can bring about a positive change in those that are willing and wanting the change.

No big shock. I expect God to do such things.

Praise the Lord!! This mans eyes were opened and he was delivered of evil. How can people still say that God will accept homosexuality? He despises it, (note not the homosexual). It is made very clear in the old AND the new testament.

Only one example - Romans 1 verse 26,27 -
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections, for even their women did change the NATURAL use into that which is AGAINST NATURE. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their LUST one toward another, men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their ERROR which was meet.

We must all pray, pray, pray for them.

I know that God can change a person's life- He changed mine- no I was never gay- but with Christ, anyone can become the person that they are created to be- and turn from whatever sin they are living in. What makes it so hard for people to believe this man has changed? Maybe because if they think he did, then they too could, and puts all of us in a position of admitting we are sinners in need of a Savior, and then is taking responsibility for our sin. I am thankful that God touched my heart ,and I know the love and forgiveness and new life I have in Jesus-

My opinion? Life got hard, and he decided to blame all his problems on his sexuality. I think he's one sad little person.

Neo-cons are acting like he was some huge leader in the gay rights movement. Hell look at your question. Many of my gay friends have never even heard of "Young Gay America".

Honestly, if Ted Haggard left his wife for some young stud and renounced Christianity, would any of you religious types question your beliefs? Would your faith be shaken? Of course not.

The exception proves the rule. Are you trumping one example as moral victory? Why are you willing to give one voice credence when there are a million more that speak differently? Is it because this example validates your point of view? Be objective, and be kind. Peace.

Worldnetdaily.com is the same quality website that once proclaimed that soy makes you gay, if I recall correctly.

Citing it is, in my opinion, the internet equivalent of wearing a dunce cap.
