When a person doesn't understand something, like being tattooed, they fear it, and they like to attach degrading labels to those people to make themselves feel better. Also, if they make everyone else think it's bad too, then they won't have to look on it at anyone else.
If you don't like tattoos, don't get a tattoo, but stop calling people sluts and tramps when you don't know a damn thing about them. There are plenty of sluts that don't have tattoos, too.

I am a 25 year old married male that has two tattoos. The first thought that i think of when i see a tattoo is definetly not "tramp". Most people's tattoos tells a story about their life or is something that is meaningful to them. I have a cross tattoo on my right forearm and an american flag draped over an eagle on my back. People who say these women are tramps do not want to take the time getting to know them for who they are. My wife has 3 tattoos and if anyone called her a tramp i would be offended and let that be known. So the people judging women based on having body art need to truly get a life. They might meet some interesting people.
The tattoo on the lower back of females has been called the "tramp stamp". Where it came from i dont know but that is where you may have heard men thinking they are tramps.
Hope this helps.

Well summed up by the 'thumbs up' posts above, but I'll try to add. I believe it is a montage of reasons, although I do not pretend to know what has the strongest weight in the equation.
Societally, we (men, collectively) don't seem ready to accept women as equals. There is still a madonna/whore complex that men (and some women) view women through. They have this predefined view of what women should be, and when women assert what they want (which might be this, their choice), the reaction is predictable and what you notice. It's actually very similar to cries of "blasphemy!" voiced by religious extremists over the centuries, including some even today. Beauty and perception is such a subjective thing, which is why you see these people making very strong comments with little supporting evidence. It's opinion, sometimes posed as advice or staged as fact, and by definition can't really be supported.
I once read that true equity between the sexes isn't predicted to be reached for several centuries, and will be an asymptotic approach for quite some time. A sad note that, but as long as we're making positive progress I will try to keep a good attitude.
Addendum: I take it by the near immediate thumbs down that I pushed someone's button. I guess it's hard to face changing times & having to play fair LOL.

My husband calls them tramp stamps. To anyone Jewish it will be looked on with with disgust. It's not that you are allergic to jewelry-its the kind you have tried. If you are wearing yellow gold it could be the brass in it and white is made with a lot of nickle-try platinum because it is pure. Can you wear a watch? If so then you are ok with stainless steel.

Cause their morons. Plain and simple. If a guy is going to call a woman a tramp simply because she chooses to tattoo herself with ink art, then that shows his lack of intelligence. And we all know its been scientifically proven that women mature faster than men so....... there's your answer.
Girl I say, get tattoo's where ever you want them and tell them idiots who say anything negative about them to go to h e l l.

Hi
Why not ask yourself the same question about tattoos.. WHY?.. I don't think most men call women with tattoos tramps just that they don't look nice, it's like smoking, has anyone ever told a woman that cigarettes make her more attractive?
c'mon lass yer can't improve on perfection, there's nothing to beat a nice smile and a good personality.
Ray. West York's. U.K.
Why the thumbs down? if you can't take the criticism don't ask the question.

Not a big fan o tattoos. As you grow older, the lines tend to blur as do any colors. My uncle had a tattoo of a topless hula girl on his arm. Forty years later, it was just a mass of blue without definition.
I would have to say, that it would depend upon the tattoo, its location and how it was presented. Yours do not sound trashy.
