If you are in the US Air Force, no matter where you are stationed, you are still protecting the US, by protecting US interest. If they decide to send you to Iraq, if there is a need for your particular job skills, then you will be sent there. Like with any job in the military, you can be sent anywhere your job specialty is needed.

When you join the US military you take an oath to defend and protect the citizens of the USA. That includes all the territories of the USA. No matter where in the world ur stationed, ur 1st obligation is to the USA. Being stationed in Japan, Iraq, or wherever, u do as ur told. You follow orders. The powers that be are the ones who determine which group from whatever division of the military is sent to Iraq or other places according to their assessment. As for the question on Japan, you protect the US base, and Japan is our ally so any force wrought against them would require u to fight against any aggressor of Japan.

While service are great country of ours. 10 years US Army. I've learned that while in uniform you follow the orders handed down to you. You will spend allot sleepless nights trying to figure out why you where put somewhere or what the big pitcher is. I will say this . When the time comes when crap hits the fan your more worried about your buddy than what Uncle Sam is thinking. Take care of those under you. Help the ones you can. At the end of it all the person in the mirror is the one you will have to live with. As part of the question on the Iraq part. If they need you there . There you will go.

You are way out if youre thinking that you can simple choise a location to go to. Youre ordered a station and that can be any usaf air force base or other base in the world including Iraq (If there are any usaf troops there. When you go to wherewer youre ordered you do the job that they had ordered you to do. Its that simple. Then you might have a change to make a request but the above is the basic method of placing people in us armed forces. Johan

If you're in the service, you do what they say and go where they tell you. The US has hundreds of bases around the world, so they can't send everyone to Iraq, but given the shortages of personnel there, the chances are pretty good. Wherever you're stationed, you're there to protect the interests of the US. Of course this often means protecting our allies as well, and I doubt we'd sit idly by in the unlikely event Japan was attacked, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

As talked approximately above, you do get to fill out a "dream sheet" interior the army. regardless of the indisputable fact that, you may desire to comprehend the detailing technique from the detailer's attitude. incredibly, assignments are made based upon their instant desires. Your needs are a tertiary attention. So, despite forte/score you have and the very instant desires of the provider will % the place you're assigned. Realistically, in case you % a accountability station like Norfolk or San Diego, the place fairly some positions exist for exceptionally much each score, then you certainly probable have a sixty 5% probability of having what you %.The smaller the backside which you request, the decrease your probabilities of having what you %. besides, it is the way it works. truly.

Who is that first schmuck who said you wouldn't go to Iraq if you were in the air force? My squadron is slated to go for 4 months this year, and we're all active duty air force...
Everyone's number is called one day or another - no matter where you're stationed. One team, one fight.
