Lord Vishnu has all the attributes of the supreme lord, but He doesn't have parikars( devotional associates ). He doesn't indulge in divine pastimes (leelas). A devotee to lord Vishnu has only ' shanta bhava' (like a subject worships the emperor) by which he can worship Him, which means there will always be a distance as is between a subject and an emperor.
Krishn incarnates only to shower His abounding love on his devotees. He comes in the form in which we can easily associate with Him. We can love Him in 5 bhava's. It is one to one relationship and in the purest form.
So it is Krishn all the way. But with all the humble regards for Lord Vishnu also.

Though Vishnu is a direct explanation and nondifferent than Krishna, Vishnu is like God at the office and Krishna is God at home Says Srila Prabhupada, (Pure Saint and Spiritual Master) Vishnu plays the role of God and we worship Him in the mood in Awe and Reverence where as Krishna only accepts intimate loving relationships and doesn't play the mood of God. Many think Krishna is under Vishnu or lesser because of This, but this is not the fact. Krishna has three more qualities than Vishnu and is the source of Vishnu. I worship Krishna which includes all of His incarnations. But He is my all in all. We all want close loving intimate relationships and Krishna can satisfy that desire fully. Vishnu will be a different mood in the roll of God All mighty. Read Bhagavad Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada tells all. and Nectar of Devotion. I love them. harekrishnatemple.com has info. God is not formless as one of your answerers says. His Forms are unlimited, eternal, and Spiritual (not made of material elements.) Krishna is the sorce of them all.

Krishna is the incarnation of the supreme Godhead Vishnu. So if you worship Krishna then you r worshipping one of Lord Vishnu's forms. Sree Vishnu & Sree Krishna are not different.

Friend,
remember the Sruti vaakyam..'' Ekam sat viprah bahulaa vadanti..''
There is only one and the known ,realised souls call it in many names and forms too.
So In Hinduism the greatest benefit is the multitude of Gods and forms.Thee is Pantheon.
As per your taste and samskaara of your last birth you are attached to a form. You like it.
One likes Shiva, One likes Vishnu.another Krishna, another Shakti so on and so forth. But all are one.
Stick to one form and try to transcend that form through meditation on the form.Form is required to understand formless god.
So there is no confusion. What ever form you like, stick to it.Love it ardently.Meditate upon it completely.Transcend it and try to realise the Ultimate.
God bless you.
